Haikyuu’s plot
Shoyo Hinata falls in love with volleyball as a junior high school student watching Karasuno High School play in Nationals on television. Hinata, who is short in stature, is inspired by Karasuno, a little yet talented wing spiker nicknamed “The Little Giant” by the media. Despite her inexperience, Hinata is athletic and possesses an incredible vertical jump. He joins his school’s volleyball club only to realise that he is the only one there, forcing him to spend the next two years attempting to recruit other kids to practise alongside him.
Hinata’s pals decided to let him join a club to collect points in competition during his last year of junior high. They lost their first official game to the championship-favoured squad, which included third-year Tobio Kageyama, a prodigy setter dubbed “The King of the Court” for his brilliance and brutal play style. Hinata swears to defeat Kageyama in high school after the game, igniting a short rivalry.
Hinata studies and is accepted to Karasuno, the same high school attended by the “Little Giant,” but she is astonished to discover that Kageyama has also chosen Karasuno.
Following the Little Giant period, Karasuno’s influence waned, and the team was called “The Wingless Crows” by other region teams.
While travelling, Hinata and Kageyama encourage each other to be the best they can be, and Hinata makes bonds with his first actual team, kicking off Karasuno’s quest to restore their reputation and reach the Nationals.
