Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone will feature elves and Krampus in the Festive Fervor event, which Activision has announced ahead of the holiday season. It’s a continuation of Warzone’s Halloween promotion, which saw Scream and Donnie Darko skins added to the game’s roster.
For a series that has been around for 18 years, Call of Duty continues to surprise and delight gamers with new and exciting content. Seasonal events and crossovers with other franchises have become a regular feature of the series. Zombies mode, which is now a staple of every mainline Call of Duty release, continues to be tweaked and improved upon by the series. A great example of this is the prospect of Indiana Jones or Captain America joining WWII-era Vanguard in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as tie-ins and features. The first-person shooter franchise is kicking off the winter season just in time for the Northern Hemisphere.
The Festive Fervor event, which begins on December 16, will include Krampus, elves, and other seasonal changes, according to a report from GameSpot. To win overall match points and progress in killstreaks in the new Vanguard mode “Elf Team Six,” players must hunt down members of Elf Team Six, which appears on multiplayer maps at random. As a result, Krampus will be used to punish those who don’t do their part. It appears that he can be fought off, but he will show up and target the gamer with the lowest objective score. However, despite the fact that this may not deter Call of Duty hackers, it should be an innovative method to stimulate involvement.
This event also includes Armageddon mode, a variation on Drop Zone mode in that gamers compete to control zones where gift-wrapped care packages fall.. If a zone around a special supply box is held for an extended period of time, it will generate a special supply box with a permanent reward for the player who kills it. There is no such thing as stealth in Warzone, thanks to the elves’ shrill yells. Map reskins and winter-themed goodies will be given to both games during the event.
To be a Call of Duty fan right now is a terrific moment as there is a lot of fresh material being released. New weaponry has been added to Warzone’s Pacific Caldera update recently, and the Festive Fervor event has been added to round out the holidays. This year’s Call of Duty upgrades and seasonal events show that the creators still have a lot of new ideas to keep the games fresh and interesting.
