Creative Animal Crossing With the help of a well-known NPC ghost, a New Horizons player recently showed off their reproduction of Luigi’s Mansion 3. The release of Luigi’s Mansion 3 on the Nintendo Switch preceded the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons by less than a year. To date, this is the best Luigi-centric game in the series, according to several reviewers.
Although Luigi’s Mansion 3 was published more than three years ago, DLC updates have kept the ghost-centric Super Mario Bros. spin-off fresh. Luigi’s Mansion 3’s frightening ghouls remain at the heart of the game’s narrative, with the large ghastly threat King Boo serving as a major enemy in DLC. In addition to his sparkling jewel crown and luminous pink eyes, King Boo has a purple tongue.
King Boo, who first appeared in the original Luigi’s Mansion in 2001, is known as one of the most dangerous enemies in the whole Super Mario Bros. series. A Reddit member by the name of acnhsulky recently shared their reconstruction of Luigi’s Mansion 3 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In keeping with the theme of the game, acnhsukly donned a green paperboy cap and blue suspenders, complete with the “L” insignia. As a bonus, Wisp the town ghoul was given a crown to resemble Luigi’s Mansion 3 adversary King Boo by acnhsukly.
Wisp looks a lot like King Boo, even though he’s a much smaller ghost in comparison. acnhsulky also included a vacuum cleaner as a weapon of choice for their playable character. Additionally, acnhsulky decorated the interior of their surrounding structure to resemble the decrepit, terrifying home from Luigi’s Mansion 3.
Fan-made crossovers between Animal Crossing: New Horizons and other video games are a common sight. Some Animal Crossing fans have taken inspiration from the Legend of Zelda, re-creating Hyrule on their islands in the style of the original game. In the spirit of Luigi’s Mansion, one Animal Crossing fan recently rebuilt the entrance to Breath of the Wild’s Lost Woods, a spooky and frightening area of the game’s landscape.
Animal Crossing’s islands are known for their sunny days and clear skies, but the player who built the Lost Woods entrance managed to capture a photo of the construction during a snowstorm and a dense fog to give it an even more surreal appearance.
Acnhsulky’s Luigi’s Mansion 3 recreation isn’t the first time an ACNH player has collaborated with a different game franchise, but the Wisp-centric nature of the project makes it stand out. NPCs commonly participate in fan-made in-game constructions, but Wisp is rarely seen. After acnhsulky demonstrated Wisp’s versatility in their Luigi’s Mansion 3 reconstruction, others may take advantage of the ghost’s abilities.
