In an unexpected announcement at the 2021 Game Awards, a new Wonder Woman game was revealed. As the developers of Shadow of Mordor are behind this game, the DC hero’s first solo outing in a game is expected to be a good one. The first Wonder Woman game could be a precursor to a Justice League game, although Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed it yet.
Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad will feature Wonder Woman in 2022. Unlike the other DC heroes in the game, she doesn’t appear to be a villain. While it is unknown if she will survive Rocksteady’s upcoming game, it is feasible that they may be linked. It’s possible that Monolith’s next Batman: Arkham-themed Wonder Woman game will be set in the Batman: Arkham universe. Despite this, it’s probable that fans won’t learn about it for a time.
Although the new Wonder Woman trailer (via GameSpot) is merely a brief glimpse of what’s to come, the confirmation of what’s to come is thrilling. In the meanwhile, there is no release date for the new game, although it’s possible that additional information may be released in 2022. Only Superman is missing from DC’s trinity of heroes who have modern-day video games. Fans may have to wait a long time to see if a new Superman game will be released to complete the trinity.
However, it’s not certain whether or not a Justice League video game will ever be released. Even if DC’s heroes escape Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it’s possible that it’s building up a genuine game for them. However, the possibility of Wonder Woman receiving her own solo video game is a thrilling one. I think it’s logical that she would produce a game following the success of her two films.
It’s a great moment to be a fan of superheroes in gaming. Superheroes are finally getting solid game adaptations thanks to DC’s new Batman games and Marvel’s new Spider-Man and Wolverine titles. Although Warner Bros. has released a gameplay trailer for the upcoming Suicide Squad, it’s not obvious how committed they are to producing a single DC video game series that spans several platforms. Warner Bros. has yet to confirm whether Wonder Woman will be a film adaptation.
