CoD: Vanguard’s Double Weapon XP Isn’t Working & Players Are Furious

Players are complaining that Vanguard’s Free Access Multiplayer weekend Double Weapon XP function is faulty, and that this has hindered them from quickly rising through the ranks.

A complaint against Activision Blizzard has been filed by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which claims that the firm has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Editor’s note: The charges have been refuted by Activision Blizzard. According to the latest information available, the entire facts of the Activision Blizzard complaint (which includes content warnings for rape, suicide, abuse, and harassment) are being updated as new material becomes available.

Players are outraged that they have been wrongly reimbursed because of a faulty or broken Double Weapon XP system in Call of Duty: Vanguard, which is now taking place during the game’s Double Expansion Weekend. Double XP was granted in conjunction with Activision’s Free Access Multiplayer weekend, which began on Friday and ended on Sunday. Call of Duty: Vanguard was made available for free during this event, allowing players who did not already purchase the game to jump in for free and get double the experience, allowing them to quickly level up weapons, upgrade their operators, and progress through the game’s brand-new Battle Pass.

The latest instalment in the annual Call of Duty series was released on November 5 and offers a cinematic storyline, competitive multiplayer, and the series’ distinctive co-op Zombie modes, among other things. When compared to its predecessors, Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer distinguishes itself by offering a comprehensive weaponry and attachments system that includes an enormous amount of potential customization choices.

The downside is that unlocking every attachment for a single weapon might take a long time because the maximum weapon level for most guns is 70, making it a time-consuming endeavour. With the announcement that Vanguard will be merged into Warzone early next month, players are rushing to max out their weapons as soon as possible, knowing that they would be at a competitive disadvantage if they join the upcoming Warzone season without every rifle and its corresponding attachment.

Reddit user DocDeezy said that Double XP Weekend is exceedingly slow and asked others if the events Double Weapon XP is entirely broken itself, both of which were answered affirmatively. The Vanguard player said that despite spending two hours grinding kills on the newly available Shipment playlist, they made just little progress in levelling up their AK-47 weapon.

The playlist, according to one user, contains adjusted XP values that are slower than ordinary lobbies, though this has not been confirmed by Sledgehammer Games. Multiple users confirmed that the decline is only focused on the Shipment map, which is most likely due to the map’s reduced size specialisation, which lets players to simply (and consistently) rack up kills with minimal work, supporting the notion. Meanwhile, other dissatisfied players have stated that the event is utterly broken on some platforms, but that it is fully functional on others.

In the Call of Duty franchise, Shipment is the smallest map available, and it encourages players to collect experience points as quickly as they can in a chaotic, symmetrical, spawn-kill-extravaganza environment. Because of the map’s widespread appeal among long-time fans, Activision has re-released it in several Call of Duty games throughout the years, each time in a slightly different configuration.

The most recent appearance of Shipments’ current form was in Vanguard, when it was redesigned as a World War II map and made available during the game’s Free Access Multiplayer weekend. Shipment, like Vanguard’s other maps, has destructible terrain, and its containers are no longer bulletproof, allowing for easier kills in specific situations.

While Call of Duty: Vanguard provides players with the option to accelerate their progression through the use of Double XP Tokens, the series’ limited-time Double XP events are the most convenient way to level up. Although the event was drastically changed for this year’s entry, it is feasible that its design will be more targeted toward discouraging cheaters in the future. It is unclear whether or not any other adjustments will be implemented in the future, but players may expect to witness more Vanguard events in the near future.
