The anime series One Piece will be getting a new feature titled “One Piece: Red.” It has been confirmed by the official domain of the film that One Piece: Red will be released in Japanese theatres on August 6, 2022. The film will be directed by Taniguchi Gorou, with Eiichiro Oda serving as the producer. Keep in mind that the formal announcement is likely to be made on November 21st, following the broadcast of episode 1000 of the show.
According to the scars included in the film’s logo, the film will most likely centre on one of the three main characters: Rocks, Kidd, or Shanks. However, Oda has lately stated that Shanks would make a move shortly, indicating that the film will most likely be about Shanks and his background. The film will almost certainly be non-canonical in the same way that the other One Piece films have been. (If the movie is confirmed to be canon, we will provide an update here.)
On the occasion of this news, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda also posted a statement on his official Twitter account. The following is an approximate translation:
“We’re making a movie right now!!” RED!! I’m completely fed up with drawing The Legend of Grandpa! Allow me to draw whatever I want! That’s exactly how the current character we’re working on is! And that was the start of everything. How many of you are aware that Taniguchi Gorou, the director of this new film, was the very first person in the world to adapt Luffy into an anime series? Now, we have some exciting news to share with you that will take you completely by surprise. The brand new film RED!! Take pleasure in anticipating it while imagining the experience”.
The year 2021 is going to be a big year for One Piece lovers. Netflix is producing a high-budget live-action rendition of One Piece, in which Oda will play a significant role. On November 21st, the 1000th episode of One Piece will be released. In France, there will be a theatrical presentation of Episode 1000.
