The first episode of the legendary 2014 fantasy anime series Noragami can now be seen online for free and without a subscription.
Funimation is now airing the English dub of the first episode of Noragami online for free.
The episode, entitled “A House Cat, a Stray God, and a Tail,” is now accessible on Funimation’s official YouTube account. Fans of the series are now theorizing that the episode’s release may suggest a future new season, despite the anime’s six-year sabbatical. Currently, no announcements concerning a third season of Noragami have been announced, and it is uncertain if Funimation intends to release the anime’s additional episodes on YouTube.
Based on the manga series of the same name by Adachitoka, Noragami made its debut in Japan on Jan. 5, 2014, and its second season, named Noragami Aragoto, began on Oct. 2, 2015. The plot concerns middle school girl Hiyori Iki, who becomes aware of the presence of two parallel universes. She obtains the power for her spirit to go outside her body and encounters Yato, a deity without a shrine, who strives to gather worshippers by accepting any request for a charge of five yen.
The first two seasons of Noragami were created by animation studio Bones (The Case Study of Vanitas, My Hero Academia) with Kotaro Tamura (Bungou Stray Dogs, Baccano!) serving as director and Deko Akao (The Detective Is Already Dead, Pokémon Journeys: The Series) managing the series composition. Taku Iwasaki(The Honor Student at Magic High School, Soul Eater) scored the series’ music, Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, Gosick) created the characters and Kumiko Sakamoto (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes) worked as the show’s editor.
Noragami’s English cast features several popular and experienced voice actors, including Bryn Apprill (Fruits Basket, Zombie Land Saga), Jason Liebrecht (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom, Fire Force), Micah Solusod (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Snow White with the Red Hair), Alexis Tipton (Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town, Moriarty the Patriot) and Elizabeth Maxwell (Person 5: The Animation, Ghost in the Shell: Arise) (Person 5: The Animation, Ghost in the Shell: Arise)
Funimation has published free episodes of various additional fan-favorite anime series like Assassination Classroom, Ouran High School Host Club, Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign, High School DxD, Fairy Tale, Witchblade, Overlord, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn and Psycho-Pass. Crunchyroll has also started distributing free episodes of its series, including the first episodes of The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat and The Aquatope on White Sand on its YouTube Channel.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Noragami are available to view through Funimation’s streaming service and on Hulu.
