MHA’s largest battle yet reaches its grand finish in Chapter 333, but Shigaraki/All For One plainly isn’t prepared for Star’s ace-in-the-hole.
Star And Stripe’s high-stakes war against Shigaraki and All For One has turned out to be one for the books till the very finish. Star has proved that she actually is the strongest woman around with a Quirk that’s astounding beyond words. It’s evident now why AFO indicated getting One For All was simply his mid-game goal and what he meant when he declared Star And Stripe would be both the biggest challenge and final opportunity.
All For One had his pals overseas stir up difficulties in order to delay foreign heroes eventually finding their way to Japan. This was all so that he’d have time to perfect Shigaraki’s physique and take One For All before facing New Order. Once OFA belonged to him, all the other plotting powers of the globe, including New Order, would have been ants before him.
Star tries to utilize New Order to save herself from decaying after Shigaraki touched her at the conclusion of the Chapter 332, but it doesn’t succeed — the decay begins instantaneously and Star isn’t able to prevent both it and the theft of New Order before it’s taken. So, in attempting to protect her body, she ends up suffering both in the end.
After successfully stealing New Order, All For One attempts to give a rule to the air but, before he can complete, a smiling Star beaming unexpectedly emerges in his consciousness. What Star sees in return is a weird partial melding of Shigaraki and All For One’s bodies. Their bodies are plainly united, but both characters’ faces and limbs are still visible, revealing that AFO is striving to totally merge with Shigaraki’s body while Shigaraki is fighting to prevent that.
Back in reality, Shigaraki’s body implodes as All For One’s Quirks explode inside of it. As it turns out, Star added a rule to New Order itself at the last minute, proclaiming that it will revolt against other Quirks. The consequence is effectively New Order battling against All For One’s other Quirks inside Shigaraki’s body. It’s her last drive to stop this evil before she truly fades away.
Star sacrifices herself in hopes that All For One won’t be able to keep New Order and her companions would survive. All For One learns that his Quirks are revolting against each other and, as Quirks can’t be eradicated, Shigaraki’s body will continue to be ripped apart until it’s entirely demolished. Desperate, he seeks to impose the hostile Quirk on one of the surrounding pilots. However, the pilots don’t give him the chance, as they take the great opportunity and all fire their lasers at him.
In her dying moments before entirely decomposing, Star thinks about All Might. She realizes that she was allowed to live out her hero fantasies because he saved her, and this is her way of paying him back. Chapter 333 finishes as Star rampages against All For One and Shigaraki in the subconscious realm, a genuine reflection of her idol, All Might.
