On November 10, Netflix confirmed the cast for One Piece live action series based on Eiichiro Oda’s comic. The author of the One Piece series, Eiichiro Oda is an executive producer of the series. Live action series is being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. Tomorrow Studios will be producing the series, they have also worked on hit Netflix programs like “Snowpiercer”, and currently they are also working on Cowboy Bepop live action version.
According to What’s on Netflix, One Piece live action season 1 will consist of 10 episodes. It will cover the story of Recruiting Zoro, Sanji, Nami and Usopp, and probably end with Luffy’s duel with Arlong.
The title of the first episode will be Romance Dawn.

- Mackenyu will portray Roroanao Zoro
- Emily Rudd will play Nami
- Jacob Romero Gibson will play Usopp
- Taz Skylar will play Sanji
Considering that Netflix is still for performers to cast for the series, it could take 2 to 3 years for One Piece live action to be out. According to certain sources, live action could be published on July 22, 2022, which will be the 25th anniversary of manga series premiere.
On the anime side, things are going very well for One Piece, since the 1000th episode will be broadcast on Nov 21st, 2021.
