According to a well-known Call of Duty dataminer, Call of Duty: Vanguard may soon see a crossover with the Attack on Titan anime series that might be rather startling. In the near future, it is possible that a new and interesting crossover may be introduced to Call of Duty: Vanguard. Call of Duty: Warzone has collaborated with Die Hard, Judge Dredd, Rambo, and other popular franchises in recent years, and the franchise has a strong history of cross-promotion.
In the case of Call of Duty: Vanguard, it appears that this trend will continue, and the next crossover might contain anything from the popular manga and anime Attack on Titan. This is the same Call of Duty dataminer who suggested Donnie Darko will be appearing in Call of Duty: Warzone, and he has just discovered some interesting information about Call of Duty: Vanguard. Despite the fact that Vanguard was only released a few days ago, files are already being investigated. The discovery of this particular artefact suggests that a shocking Attack on Titan crossover is on the road, which is certainly exciting.
The Call of Duty leaker @ Nanikos_ has provided datamined material from the Call of Duty: Vanguard memory dumps that fans will find quite interesting. When searching through the files, the words “swordtitan” and “aot titan” were discovered. It appears that an Attack of Titan crossover is in the works, explicitly hinting that one or more Attack of Titan characters may be added to the roster of Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators already present in the game. Things like calling cards, weapon skins, and other items of a similar type could potentially be available.
According to Nanikos, the collaboration is expected to go online sometime in December, if all goes according to plan. This portion of the leak is pure conjecture, but Nanikos has a track record of hitting the mark in the past. For the time being, the thought of an Attack of Titan crossover with Call of Duty: Vanguard should be treated with a grain of salt, but seeing the data in-game is surely a reason to be excited about the possibility.
Attack on Titan was recently recognised with a culture award, demonstrating how the manga and anime have made a significant impact around the world. From the standpoint of pure popularity, a crossover with Call of Duty and Attack on Titan makes perfect sense for the franchise. However, it is not often that a mostly Japanese pop culture property makes its way into a video game like Call of Duty: Black Ops (compared to something like Marvel, DC, John Wick, or Star Wars in Fortnite).
Added to this is the fact that Call of Duty: Vanguard is a World War II-themed game, making the partnership with an anime in which humans battle enormous monster-like creatures somewhat jarring.
It will take time to determine whether or not this datamined discovery is correct.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is currently available for purchase on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
