Season 2 of the popular anime ‘Edens Zero,’ which finished airing in Japan last month, has recently been announced by Netflix. As a matter of precedent, Netflix has released its anime content all at once once the Japanese local broadcast has ended. The weekly simulcast method is being used by programs such as Komi Can’t Communicate and Blue Period, but fans of many other series are still eagerly awaiting fresh episodes.
This includes ‘Edens Zero,’ a popular science fiction anime that debuted its first 12 episodes on the site on August 26th. Season 2 will begin streaming on the same day as the first season, according to the streaming behemoth. Season 2 of Edens Zero will be available on Netflix on November 24th, 2021, at 12 A.M. Pacific Time, & will be available in all regions.
It’s technically’season 1 part 2′ for Japanese viewers who caught up with the Japanese show, which ended on the 3rd of October. As with The Seven Deadly Sins, Netflix has opted to break season 1 into two chapters. According to What’s On Netflix, 30 chapters of the manga were adapted for Netflix’s first release. With 37 chapters being adapted for Season 2, fans can expect more action and a faster-paced finale.
There are 13 episodes in the second season, with the titles listed below:
- The Virtual Super-Planet
- The Story of a Young Lady on a Hill
- Kaiju Shiki of the Greatest Order
- Fireworks
- The Wisdom Temple
- Words Can Be A Powerful Source of Inspiration
- From the Eternal Planet
- Stones
- Reset
- The Machine Is My Mother
- Until such time as it transforms into power
- Assuming Responsibility for the Flame
- Somebody to Fall in Love With
As we get near the start of season 2, on November 24th, this post will be updated with a breakdown of international release dates.
A JAPAN TOUR FOR EDENS ZERO 2
Edens Zero’s official Japanese listing differs from the Netflix release, as previously indicated. At the time of writing, the J.C. Staff animation studio has not officially renewed the Japanese broadcast of Edens Zero for season 2 — Netflix users would be seeing seasons 3 and 4. In spite of this, the official Japanese Twitter feed announced that “Shiki’s adventure would continue” after the finale aired on Japanese television, implying that more episodes are on the way.
As long as the manga that the television series is adapting is still ongoing, many fans were already hopeful that the anime series will be back on the small screen. Chapter 68 of the manga will be adapted for the anime, according to Monsters and Critics.
With 165 chapters currently released in Japan, there is enough source material to carry Edens Zero into its fifth or sixth season! Only the show’s popularity could be a deterrent, as MyAnimeList gives it a 7.33/10 and IMDB gives it a 7.2/10.
Sadly, director Yuji Suzuki passed away in September, before the original broadcast had completed. So, this is all happening in his honor. There’s no word yet on who will direct any future Edens Zero films.
If Netflix decides to renew Edens Zero for a second season (seasons 3/4 on Netflix), Japanese anime viewers can look forward to a return in October 2022 as part of the Summer anime schedule.
Series that are similar to the Edens Zero series…
Have you watched Netflix’s Edens Zero and are looking for something new to watch? Not to worry, there are many other series like this one! ‘Fairy Tail,’ another work by Eden’s Zero author Hiro Mashima, is an obvious pick.
If you liked Edens Zero, you’ll love this one because of all the subtle differences between the two series, including everything from the characters to the plot. Interesting news: Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, a follow-up series, is now under development. That means now is the perfect moment to begin the series!
Other shows like Rave Master (also by Mashima), Shaman King, Kanara no Astra, and Space Dandy could be a fun follow-up to Edens Zero. Steins Gate, Neon Genesis, and the iconic Cowboy Bepop are examples of more extensive series.
