An anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest manga series is currently in development, which is the sequel to his popular Fairy Tail manga series. Fairy Tail came to a close in 2019 after nearly 300 episodes had been released.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, written and illustrated by Mashima and Atsuo Ueda, was released in 2018, and it continues the story. A live-stream event featuring Mashima stated that the magical storyline of fire wizard Natsu and his companions would continue after ending the original series.
