INTRODUCTION
Reading comic books is something that almost everyone enjoys. For those in the otaku community who are familiar with Korean culture, we know that the country’s manhwa is equivalent to other countries’ comics.
More and more Japan is adapting anime from its vast manga collection (Japanese comic type stuff). It’s possible that somebody will want to make a movie adaptation of this work of art.
That’s quite cool, isn’t it? Then there’s the well-known film adaptation of Park Yongji’s more well-known manhwa, “The God Of High School.”
Despite their reputation for shoddy manhwa adaptations, Crunchyroll released this action-packed martial arts anime, which quickly became popular due to the fact that the storyline remained nearly (but not quite) identical to the manhwa and lived up to fans’ expectations. And now, God of High School Season 2 is being demanded by the audience.
CONCERNING THIS ANIMATION
Aside from those who have already read the manhwa (I know you’re laughing that no one will not read it after you’ve seen what the anime is), let’s talk about what the manga depicts.
It’s a 13-episode anime from MAPPA, the studio known for legendary works like “Yuri!!! on Ice,” “Attack on Titan,” and “Dororo.” It follows high school student Jin Mori, 17, who was born to be a martial arts prodigy and trained by his legendary grandpa Jin Tae Jin and his companions, blessed by the powers of mythical creatures and Gods (want me to say the name?) to participate in a tournament hosted Whatever the case may be. Now that their hopes have been realized, God of High School followers eagerly anticipates the second season.
The anticipated release date for the second season of God of High School is yet to be determined.
For those of us who have been following anime for a while, we know that whether or not an anime will get a second season is dependent on several different factors, such as how popular it is, whether or not there is enough manga or manhwa material left (RIP Kentaro Miura), and whether or not a studio or producer is willing to take the initiative. It’s reasonable to assume a second season of “The God of High School” because the first two reasons are favorable.
Unfortunately, there has been no official word from Crunchyroll on the possibility of a second season. Given that Season 1 began in summer 2020 and lasted for two months, it’s safe to assume that Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2022 if the anime industry operates as it usually does.
THE GOD OF HIGH SCHOOL SEASON 2 CAST AND CREW
As long as the ‘three musketeers’ aren’t dead,’ we’ll see Tachibana Tatsumaru as Jin Mo Ri, Kumagai Kentarou as Han Dae Wi, and Ohashi Ayaka as Yu Mi Ra.
Park Mugen (Namikawa Daisuke) and Park Il Pyo (Uchiyama Kouki) will reprise their roles in the anime, as will a slew of new characters if the adaptation follows the manga closely.
HINDSIGHT OF FIRST YEAR
Season 1 continues the tournament arc from the manhwa and brings it to a close in the first season. After that, we see fighter Taek transform into a God.
This sets off our Jin Mo Ri’s transformation, making him realize that he’s a 1000-year old great monkey king, Wukong. He then challenges Jin Mo Ri to use his powers, including summoning his staff Ruyi Jingu, to defeat Jin Mo Ri’s opponents. When he overcomes Taek, he transforms into “The God Of High School,” a monstrous creature.
