Studio Bones officially renewed My Hero Academia for a sixth season minutes after the season 5 finale aired last week.
It’s hard to pick just one ‘popular’ anime series to watch when there are so many good ones out there. However, a few mega-series can attract as broad an audience and as much attention as My Hero Academia does.
Since its debut in 2016, the smash anime series based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi has ruled the industry. My Hero, Academia’s season 5 finale is now available for free on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
Thankfully, My Hero Academia season 6 has already been confirmed by the series’ production studio so that fans may breathe a sigh of relief.
IS SEASON 6 OF MY HERO ACADEMIA CONFIRMED?
Season 6 of My Hero Academia was officially announced minutes after the premium user finale aired on Saturday, September 25th!
On the franchise’s Japanese website, a little teaser film was posted, which you can see below.
In light of all the ‘leaks’ that have been going around for the previous 24 hours, many fans were not surprised by this development.
Japan’s Ryokutya2089 website was the first to report that a “production decision” had been taken for season 6 of My Hero Academia.
The popular Twitter page ‘Atsushi101X,’ a reliable source for franchise news, then released the second big rumor, revealing that “My Hero Academia anime season 6 officially confirmed!”.
The current Weekly Shonen Jump magazine cover also appeared, showing Shigaraki and Deku having a brief dialogue.
The conflict between heroes and villains is drawing close, and Shigaraki vows to destroy everything in his path. “I’ll use everything I have to stop you,” Deku answers.
When the fifth season ended with adaptations of the manga up to chapter 257 of volume 26, it was clear that there would be a sixth adventure.
The good news is that, as of this writing, 31 Japanese volumes and 326 individual chapters have been released, which means that My Hero Academia should be able to continue for several more seasons.
My Hero Academia is still one of the most well-known anime franchises of all time, making it a valuable asset for Studio Bones.
Season 6’s renewal was all but inevitable given the show’s dominance of the Spring/Summer anime schedules and the recent box office success of World Heroes Mission.
The next thing on fans’ minds is when My Hero Academia season 6 will be streamable.
