Missy Peregrym, star of “FBI,” returns from maternity leave on November 15 in a new episode. Peregrym has been on leave since June when she and her husband Tom Oakley welcomed their second child. Following the conclusion of her maternity leave in September, she revealed on Instagram that she will be returning to her role as Special Agent Maggie Bell. Missy’s real-life break was accommodated by the show’s creators by having Maggie go on medical leave after she was injured in a sarin gas assault in the previous season.
In addition, the official FBI accounts on Twitter and Instagram each posted a video greeting Peregrym’s return to the set. According to the official description for the episode airing on November 15, Maggie will return in time to help with two murder investigations, one involving a law student headed to Marine Corps Base Quantico and the other involving a young guy with probable gang links.
But Maggie makes a mistake and gives out too much information, and her colleagues start to wonder if she’s really ready to return to work. Here is what the episode’s official synopsis states in full: Maggie’s return from medical leave in “Ready or Not” allows her to assist the team in their investigation into the murders of a law student who was planning to attend Quantico and a young guy who may have gang links. On the CBS Original Series FBI, airing Tuesday, November 15 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on-demand on Paramount+, Maggie makes an unintentional disclosure to OA that makes him concerned that his partner is getting back into the job too soon.
It is assumed that this episode will serve as a stepping stone for Peregrym when she returns to her role as Maggie. Maggie has a lot of news about what has happened to her coworkers and, in particular, her work partner OA since last season. During Peregrym’s absence, Shantel VanSanten portrayed Agent Nina Chase, who filled in as OA’s partner while Maggie was away. The fact that VanSanten is not mentioned as a cast member for the episode does not provide any definitive answers as to whether or not she will continue to feature on the show.
