Chloe Bennet, Blair Penner, and Anthony Konechny will star in a new E! romantic comedy called Married By Mistake, Deadline reports. One of six written romantic comedies planned for the network by the network’s creative team. After a night of drinking, Riley and Nate get married in Las Vegas after tying the knot in the middle of a desert highway. Riley, out of work and without much hope for the future, makes the decision to return to his hometown with Nate in an effort to save the family business from bankruptcy.
However, when Nate’s ex-girlfriend and his elder brother Rhys show up, things get a little more tricky. An MBA whose life is turned upside down when her ideal job falls through, Bennet will portray Riley. Penner portrays Nate, Riley’s best friend, who, following a night of intoxication, offers her a job with his family’s business. Rhys Bynam, Nate’s attractive elder brother, is being played by Konechny, who has returned to his hometown to assist with the family company.
His feelings for Riley are immediately reciprocated, but when he learns that she is married to his younger brother, things get complicated. Meg Jackson, the writer of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, is writing the screenplay for The Princess Switch alum Mike Rohl. Motion Picture Corporation of America’s Mick MacKay, Brad Krevoy, Amanda Phillips, and Lorenzo Nardini produce the romantic comedy (MPCA). Executive producers include Ivan Hayden, Mike Rohl, and Doran S. Chandler. As Quake on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the protagonist in DreamWorks’ Abominable, Bennet is perhaps best recognised. Penner’s credits include titles such as Supernatural, Ghosts, and Van Helsing. TNT’s Animal Kingdom now has Konechny in a recurring role.
