Season 2 of “I Hate Suzie”: Release Date, Synopsis & Cast Details

Work-related accidents and events on set have caused delays in the production of films and television shows over the years, causing many to be shelved. Even though Letitia Wright’s injury in November 2021 delayed the highly anticipated Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the same cannot be said for the filming of I Hate Suzie Season 2 due to the injury of Billie Piper. According to Deadline, the actress was hurt during a promotional shot following a filming session. The actress fell and damaged her back in a scene reminiscent of Strictly Come Dancing (or Dancing With the Stars, as it is known in the United States).

As previously reported, the second season of I Hate Suzie Too will not be affected by the injury because filming has already been completed. Piper, who plays Suzy Pickles in the sitcom, was sent to the hospital the day after the event occurred on set. Dance Crazee, the show’s basis for the challenge, was a fake television series based on the popular celebrity dance series in which she fell. The show’s second season is already complete and will debut on Sky and HBO Max later this year. Piper was nominated for a BAFTA for her performance in the show’s first season. Lucy Prebble and the actress star in and co-created the programme.

I Hate Suzie tells the tale of Pickles, a former teen music sensation and television actress who is now a single mother. Pickles had her phone hacked and had to deal with having sexual images of herself leaked into the open. While she’s coping with that, she’s also trying to maintain her marriage and care for her little boy.

Her professional life is not immune to the upheaval that has engulfed her personal life. An adaptation of Terri White’s memoir, Coming Undone, about her battle with mental illness, has been greenlit for Piper after her work on I Hate Suzie. Also appearing in I Hate Suzie is BAFTA-nominated actress Leila Farzad. Georgi Banks-Davies and Anthony Neilson are directing and writing the show, which Prebble is penning. With Piper and Prebble as executive producers, Julie Gardner, Liz Lewin and Cameron Roach are also on board.
