This month we start with a new Anime that has just debuted, let’s find out about Higurashi When They Cry NEW. This anime is also known by its alternative name as Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (2020). A boy named Keiichi Maebara who recently moved to the peaceful Hinamizawa village. He is friends with his classmate Mion Sonozaki, his twin brother Shion, Rena Ryugu, Rika Furude, and Satoko Hojo. Keiichi discovered the village’s annual Watanagashi Festival.
It is a celebration to remember and thank the local god Oyashiro. Hinamizawa Village initially seemed calm and peaceful to the newcomers. Before the festival, Keiichi learns that in the past people in the village had been killed or disappeared on the night of the festival. The incident remained as it was without being resolved and they named it the Oyashiro Curse.
