Chapter 174 of Jujutsu Kaisen is summarised below
Dhruv’s shikigami is vanishing, as Ryu Ishigori and Takako Uro have seen. He wants to know who modified their points at the last minute in Sendai Colony, and Ishigori is curious. After that, Kogane informs him that Okkutsu is the one he’s looking for. Okkutsu and Dhruv’s conflict explains why Ishigori was able to approach them so near to them without eliciting a response. After the cut, we see Okkutsu with a group of people, telling them to head north in search of the barrier’s northernmost edge.
Upon seeing a woman and her children, Okkutsu intervenes and tells them they don’t need to be afraid because he had fought a sorcerer who had taken over the adjacent stadium. Strange voices are heard by the locals, and Okkutsu tells them all to head inside the stadium. They are attacked by a massive swarm of flying cockroaches, one of which viciously murders a nearby resident. All these bugs have cursed energy, and it has led to Okkutsu questioning whether or not they are actually genuine at this point. Kurourushi emerges out of nowhere, and it turns out he’s the one responsible for the cockroach swamp.
From a distance, Ishigori notices that the overall cursed energy level is high, but the output is still very limited. Kurourushi is awakened from his slumber, and Yuta is preparing to use “The Festering Life Sword” in the meantime. There will be more sorcerers like Lakdawala and Kurourushi that Yuta thinks he should kill and collect 400 points from at the end of the chapter.
