After that, we get a flashback to when Jiwoo earned his first shadow knight, which is even more exciting, and it truly gave all the fans who have been following Solo Leveling for a long time shivers. This time the Shadows are providing a new point of view. Later in the chapter, three huge shadow knights appear, claiming to be following Grand Marshal Bellion’s instructions. There must have been magic Soldiers among the new recruits, Tusk thinks, and he wonders what he might say to them now that he knows this. Later, Tusks tells the Commander he’ll fill him in on all he did in the first war his great Liege waged against the Demon King and in the rifts of universes if he’ll only listen attentively, but the Commander interrupts him.
He tells Tusks that he has business to take care of soon and that all the troops above the general grade who closely follow the Liege should clap for him when he arrives. Tusk finds out that Jiwoo has met Lady Hae In as he peers through the magical window into the mundane world and sees the general elation that ensues. Afterwards, we hear a character explain that the first location he ever encountered was a bizarre realm forged by the Monarch’s might. As his Liege had requested his presence, he was there to determine whether or not this man was fit to serve as his vessel. At that moment, he had already prepared himself for a farewell from his Liege, and he expected that his Liege, who had lost interest in war after forgiving the rulers, would have enough grounds for taking such an interest in an insignificant human. All the shadow could do was say that he would obey his Liege’s commands without even considering asking for his skill or trying to dissuade him. This is why he went to the trouble of standing in that alien dimension all by himself, with most of his original talents hidden away, to prove he was worthy of the position. In the end, the unknown individual explains that this shape is the one he used before meeting his Liege and that no amount of unlimited power available to the Realm of Repose could have allowed that architect to reproduce the same senses from that era.
He pretends that only such complexity could transform the human body into one that would yield to Liege’s influence over time. A little later, we witness this individual seated on the throne, where he declares that he is already there since that’s when he first began to feel his presence and that he should come quickly because he is waiting for him. Yet, she worries that this is making him conceited and disrespectful. Since this individual believes that the human being put to the test now has the Liege’s awareness, it seems odd for him to present himself as though he were sitting on the throne in front of the Liege. When Jiwoo arrives, the mysterious figure reveals himself to be none other than Blood Red Commander Igris, saying that he had no intention of being careless in the face of battle even if it were the last mission ever entrusted to him and that if he is deemed to be insufficient, he will die at his hands. Whether he deserves the throne or not, Igris declares so, sparking the beginning of his fight against him, which ends in disillusionment. He was too preoccupied with dodging Igris’ blade to use his pre-death skills to their full potential. Yet, he assumes this is the only option given that he cannot harm him in any other way (without hitting the interior of his armour). Igris likes his energetic look, but he also wonders if he has the ability to match it as he approaches him and sees that he plans to battle him with his bare hands, a sign of great daring for a human.

The precious wood that their Lord gave them is reason enough for celebration.
