Recap of Episode 284
No one can keep a secret from the audience in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 284, titled Sasuke Story: The Secret in the Cellar. Sasuke and his cellmates start the episode by watching Meno. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s representative, Fandal, arrives at the jail for a visit, and Sakura gives him a warm reception. Without going into detail, Fandal informs Sakura that he wants to talk to Zansul about “the development.” Sakura traps Fandal in a room and assumes his shape using her genjutsu because she is adept at phishing. She also uses her power to turn Sasuke into a walking stick. In her new appearance as Fandal, she approaches Zansul. Then Sakura inquires about Zansul’s progress, but Zansul is obviously not going to spill the beans to an emissary.
Meanwhile, Sasuke breaks in to clone Zansul’s key to the basement using Earth Style. In the basement, Sasuke discovers a horde of real chickens, some old fossils, and a spooky shrine. Sasuke figures out that Zansul is not calling upon Meno but rather another entity.
To possibly give live chickens, Zansul may have used a Reanimation Jutsu to call out a beast. Sasuke utilises jutsus to twist Meno’s loyalties to Zansul when he attacks him from a rear door. Simultaneously, a convict tells Zansul of Sasuke and Sakura’s plans, and Zansul calls forth a new Meno.
