[Updated] Spoilers for Boruto chapter 80 Storyline, Summaries & What to Expect in this Chapter

Since the previous Boruto chapter was released on March 19, fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of chapter 80. The next chapter is scheduled for release on April 20, giving readers about a month to wait before seeing the tale continue. In the last chapter, Eida stepped in to help Kawaki escape the leaf shinobi. No one agreed with the former’s assessment that he had to murder Boruto because of Momoshiki. After hearing this, Eida used her Senrigan to change the identities of Kawaki and Boruto, making Kawaki the son of Naruto and Boruto the outsider.

What can we anticipate from Boruto 80?

The events of Boruto chapter 80 will presumably pick up where chapter 79 left off, with the main protagonist confronting Mitsuki in his Sage Mode. Momoshiki informed Boruto about Eida’s identity swap with Kawaki. Now it appears that only Sarada Uchiha is immune to the effects of the swap.

Boruto may turn into a criminal ninja

Being an outsider, Boruto is now being hunted by the leaf shinobi for his role in the deaths of Naruto and his wife, the Seventh Hokage and his consort, Hinata. An outsider who bites the hand that feeds him has little chance of being taken seriously. As a result, Boruto’s main character is expected to become a rogue ninja and leave the town in chapter 80. It just so happens that he already owns the matching headpiece.

Challengers: Boruto vs. Mitsuki

Mitsuki entered Sage Mode at the end of the last chapter and immediately began assaulting Boruto. Due to Eida’s swap, it now appears that Mitsuki will view Kawaki as his son and Boruto as the outsider responsible for the deaths of the seventh Hokage and his wife. It’s possible that Boruto’s future will involve Sarada. With only the Otsutsukis and Eida remembering Boruto and Kawaki’s actual identities, Sarada has the potential to become an integral part of the series’ future narrative. As Boruto and Kawaki are both seen at the beginning of the series, it’s doubtful that the villagers of Hidden Leaf would trust Sarada’s narrative.

The previous Rinnegan user, Sarada, may thus swap sides and train Boruto in secret if only Sasuke Uchiha believes her account. It’s possible that’s how Boruto first comes into possession of Sasuke’s cloak and sword.

Code may attempt to harm Konoha.

As the Hidden Leaf’s shinobi were preoccupied with Boruto, it’s possible that Code may launch an attack on Konoha in the next chapter of the manga, numbered 80. The village has just lost its Hokage, making it extremely exposed to any attack, and now looks like the perfect time to discover it defenceless. Therefore it’s possible that in Boruto chapter 80, Code will launch an attack on Konoha, and Sasuke will have to battle him to save the town.
