Recap

Yoichi made a great save to save Bachira’s goal, but the rebound went right to Rin Itoshi, who scored the game-winning goal. As the rest of the white team is down in the dumps about their loss, Rin shocks everyone by picking Yoichi from the losing side. With Yoichi’s vision, which Rin had missed, looming over the game’s deciding move, Rin felt beaten and resolved not to let Yoichi slip back down. While Rin works to become the finest striker in the world, he too would like Yoichi by his side. Yet, Yoichi just can’t understand why Rin would choose to remove him from the losing squad. He tried to make amends with his comrades, but they all told him to shut up and stop interfering with their plans to go forward with Rin and his squad. Yoichi enters the winner’s gate to be met by Aryu, Tokimitsu, and Bachira while Nagi, Barou, and Chigiri remain restless. Bachira initiates a discussion with Yoichi about their time apart. As they were apart, Bachira learned to struggle on his own and come to terms with the fact that he can only rely on himself for salvation.

Yoichi also had a talk with Rin about what went wrong in their last battle and why. Rin explains that it was pure luck, much to Yoichi’s disgust, rather than a mere chance. As a consolation for his victory, Jinpachi tries to illustrate the role of chance in the game by drawing on absurd analogies like being pooped on by pigeons and receiving a consolation award at a festival game. In the same way that success in the field is not a matter of chance, Jinpachi says that good fortune favours those who actively seek it. Think of soccer as one big coincidence after another. Whether you like it or not, everyone in Blue Lock has their own set of inevitabilities, and when those clash with your opponent’s, you have a coincidence. Indeed, the prior match was decided by sheer chance. Rin may have good fortune on his side, but if he does nothing, the chance will be lost.

As a last piece of advice, Jinpachi tells everyone that the Goddess of Fortune only smiles at people who have a sixth sense of luck. Moreover, he urged everyone to adopt the attitude that coincidences are to be expected and remembered for what they are. When it comes down to it, luck shines on the brave. In the end, Yoichi realizes that he and Rin are different because of their respective attitudes toward accepting the results of their actions, whether good or bad. Yoichi needs to reimagine himself as someone more fortunate if he wants to beat Rin. Once they have made it through the second round of selection, they will be competing against the top five players in the globe within the next day. In a group, in the locker room, you’ll sift over your opponents’ dossiers. The first is Leonardo Luna, a member of the Spanish national team; the second is Adam Blake, a member of England’s national team; the third is Pablo Cabassos, a member of Argentina’s national team; the fourth is Dada Silva, a member of Brazil’s national team; and the fifth is Julian Loki, a young prodigy from France’s national team.

When Rin is practising some yoga and meditation as part of his post-workout recovery in the locker room, Yoichi interrupts him. He was concerned about the state of Rin’s brother-and-sister bond, so he asked about it. The connection between the two was uneasy, but Rin argues that a good beating would put an end to the tension. Yoichi wants to see Rin as an opponent, but Rin says that’s not fair. You’ll never beat me” is a yoga stance that Rin strikes specifically to mock Yoichi. So Yoichi tried to strike a stance like Rin and ran into Rin. The World’s Five faces off against Rin Itoshi’s squad to kick off the third and final selection round. The World’s Five starts taunting and abusing Rin’s squad, but Rin won over his comrades by speaking English and refusing to take it lying down. Itoshi Sae’s younger brother, yet one of the World’s Five recognizes him, which upsets Rin. Bachira starts the game by dribbling past Pablo Cabassos with a lot of arrogance. Yoichi adapts to Bachira’s new style of play, and Bachira rewards him by setting up Rin for the game’s opening goal with a whipped cross.
