Review of Boruto 290
Boruto and Kawaki’s frustration at being monitored by Nishi the sensor was on full display in the previous episode. Kawaki criticised the former for showing minimal concern about being seen. Amado and Shikamaru were overheard talking, with the former accusing the latter of plotting something extravagant. Amado, though, admitted that the rapid succession of events had caught him off guard as well. Kawaki hid his chakra and created a shadow doppelganger to trick the sensor into thinking he was only taking out the garbage one night. By the time Boruto noticed anything was amiss, he had already departed the hamlet. The two got into a little skirmish outside after Code tracked him down with Eida’s help. Thereafter, Kawaki tried to negotiate by offering to give up his life to ensure Leaf Village’s protection. Code, however, was too preoccupied with his current goal of growing the Divine Tree and eating the Chakra Fruit to worry about such trifling issues.
