The latest hour-long episode of Attack on Titan: Final Season, Part 3 has captivated audiences across the world. MAPPA spared no effort in creating the episode, which has animation and story design of the highest calibre. Rumbling, initiated by Eren Yeager after he attained the Founding Titan’s strength, is the main emphasis of this episode. In this episode, the Survey Corps makes a last-ditch effort to halt Eren’s rage and the Wall Titans’ advance. Characters like Annie, Reiner, and Pieck are also seen aiding the Survey Corps in their mission to thwart Eren’s genocie. Several fan-favourite characters meet their terrible ends in this episode, with Levi receiving the worst possible outcome.
Part 3 of Attack on Titan’s last season sees Levi’s luck run out.
Part 3 of Attack on Titan’s last season is a whirlwind of unforgettable moments, profound character development, and nail-biting action. Some of the most beloved characters are killed off in this hourlong episode, while others are forced to pick up the pieces and continue on their tragic path. Captain Levi of the Survey Corps is one such sad figure; he loses a buddy again in an effort to halt Eren’s slaughter. Hange Zoe, leader of the Survey Corps, remains behind to impede the Rumbling’s progress and give other members of the corps time to escape.
Before leaving, Hange pauses to say farewell to Levi, who gives them the first of many heartfelt exhortations. As Levi realises what Hange’s choice will mean for him, it’s an excruciatingly painful moment. That reminds me of the moment in Season 3 of Attack on Titan with former leader Erwin Smith. Once again, Levi is reduced to a bystander as he witnesses a close friend’s selfless sacrifice, leaving him to fight this war on his own. He is abandoned once more in a bleak downward spiral, but this time he is seriously hurt and unable to resist as effectively. A life of violence and murder has left him a damaged man with nothing to show for it. When we put ourselves in Levi’s shoes, we see a world that is completely hopeless.
Eren has lost every close friend he’s ever had, his army of Wall Titans has killed millions of people, and he himself can’t battle to his full ability. Being the mute witness to other people’s unrealized ambitions and goals and the bearer of the weight of their deaths, Levi’s destiny is worse than death. He was unfortunate enough to lose everyone close to him, including Hange, Erwin, the Special Operations Unit, etc.
The only solace is that Levi has had the opportunity to exact revenge on his attackers in the past, using his superior Titan-slaying talents. Because he now has only two working fingers on one hand and extensive injuries to the rest of his body, this strategy is useless to him. Attack on Titan, Season 3, Episode 1 provides us with a glimpse at how miserable Levi’s life has become and how much he has lost.
Latest Spoilers for Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3
Viewers have been left stunned and horrified by the events of the first hour-long episode of the third and last season of Attack on Titan. The episode was faithful to the manga in most respects, while Mappa changed the chronology of events for maximum effect for the anime-only audience. It would be inaccurate to refer to the two halves of Part 3 as episodes. As was extensively hinted at in the teaser, the first part of the series brought Hange Zoe’s character to a satisfying end. But, rather than being sad, this denouement has brought the much-loved figure to a calm, if not joyful, finish.
Part 3 of Attack on Titan’s last season is a suitable sendoff for Hange Zoe’s character. First, the Alliance forces, or what was left of them, reach Odhia and begin fixing the plane. Floch, who had been following them, sacrificed his life in an attempt to delay them for a while. The mechanics from Hizuru were almost done with the plane when Eren’s Rumbling arrived on the continent. Hange stepped up and handed the title of leader of the Survey Corps over to a stunned Armin as the cadets began debating who should stay behind to halt the Titans so the rest can proceed ahead. Before taking off and diving headfirst into the oncoming Titans, Hange said their goodbyes to their fellow soldiers and enjoyed a touching moment of camaraderie with Levi.
In the third and last instalment of Attack on Titan, Hange Zoe finds peace
The Hange Zoe then showed their skill and determination, thereby stopping the Rumbling for long enough for the others to escape in the completed aeroplane. Lady Azumabito took off with Annie, Falco, and Gabi aboard a ship and left them far from the battle. Nevertheless, the increased temperature radiating from the Titans’ skins quickly set fire to Hange’s cape. While their teammates stared helplessly, they slowly died. Hange awoke from their burning death in what can only be described as an afterlife. They were laying in a crater created by a Titan’s footfall. They were anxious about their friends until they heard Erwin’s voice indicating that Hange had completed their mission. When they turned around, they were greeted by Erwin, Mike, and Moblit, as well as Keith Shadis and Sasha Braus. Hage sighed a breath of relief as he grasped Moblit’s hand and started filling their departed friends in on what was happening on Earth.
Concluding Ideas
Among the series’ many notable protagonists, Hange Zoe stands out. Their story has been essentially flat, but it has layers and arcs, and the one constant is their fixation with the Titans. Hange is a scientist at heart and a strategist by profession, but it is his unadulterated hunger for learning and exploration that has won over audiences. Are there those who wish Hange Zoe hadn’t died? Undoubtedly. Hardly one anticipated a cheerful ending, though, as the series is Attack on Titan. Hange abandoning the mortal world to do their job, being killed by the Titans they love, and then waking up in the afterlife to be reunited with their companions is probably the finest thing that could have happened. All Hange Zoe has done to accomplish their job is vindicated, and the audience is given hope for characters like Sasha and Erwin who were seemingly lost along the road. Even though Hange’s fate is tragic and unfair, there is a beautiful air about it, a feeling of acceptance and finality. Part 1 of the third and final season of Attack on Titan offers viewers the comforting thought that death ushers in more than just closure; it ushers in serenity and independence as well.
