Recap!
The 381st chapter of My Hero Academia was titled “Dark.” Beginning with Shiketsu High School’s participation, this chapter follows the events of the subsequent conflict. The destruction caused by the fighting at Gunga was incalculable. Following this, Seiji reveals that his own father was murdered by All For One. After learning that he had always been that way, no one could believe it. The school’s planned participation in the conflict is revealed to Hawks at a later time. In contrast, All For One was employing every trick in the book to defeat the professional heroes. Tsukuyomi had a significant role in the last scene of this lengthy chapter. And when they saw what he could do, they couldn’t believe it. Finally, the narrative concludes with Hawks conjuring a Whirlwind that sweeps All For One away.

The heroes will feel much mightier once they begin using their clones. At the climax, viewers will see Dark Shadow triumph against the film’s enemies. Nonetheless, All For One will insist that he intended to destroy the whole thing. And now, at long last, the rematch between these two will begin. Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 382
The chapter progresses and we see that Shigaraki’s doppelganger tries to employ deterioration, but to no avail. Tsuyu and the girls switch perspectives, and it’s revealed that they have a theory: if Toga first transformed into the other league members and created clones of them, the situation would be resolved immediately, and if he didn’t, a condition should be imposed. This need stems from a conversation she had with Ochaka during the previous battle; it involves drawing from the Quirks of those she cares about in order to win. Toga’s clones are still subject to regulation, and she doesn’t feel particularly fond towards the other league member. While Twice has the ability to create clones and use their Quirk, Toga does not. Ochko begins to speculate about how all of this must be making Toga feel, and it is also at this point that we learn that she is not in particularly good shape. Even though she understood a long time ago that she couldn’t use Toya and Tomura’s powers, she still held out hope that things may change for the better.
She breaks out in tears and claims Jin could have done it, while also wondering why she can’t be just like him. After there was a double-page spread of black with just a voice bubble saying “exterminate all the heroes,” which was the sentence being repeated by all of the Twice’s clones. The next two-page spread has Ochako engaging the Twice clones in combat. As she watches the original Toga, now in tearful transformation into Twice, she reflects on how much she has always enjoyed seeing other people happy. It turned out that even if she can’t replicate these powerhouses, she still can’t use their Quirks. This makes sense, as we are already venturing into deep-cut Quirk territory with her doing this (for several reasons). With her use of Twice’s Quirk and the more refined use of his talent, we are now branching out and expanding this Quirk even more. In addition to her first investigation into a trace amount of Twice’s blood, she has since duplicated other people and used their Quirk.
It’s not just that she doesn’t care enough about the other members of the league; the fact that there are so many moving parts, at least on paper, makes it hard for her to commit fully. The next image shows Tokoyami, who is continuing relentlessly fighting All For One, while Hawks urges him to keep on for as long as he can, presumably until All For One’s corpse is no longer there. As Camie makes an aurora night sky and Inasa lends help with his wind, Jiro advises that all the other heroes fight the Dark Shadow in order to make it stronger. Hawks’s claim that All For One’s body is gone is explained by the fact that he is currently rewinding, using the black market version of Aries’ quirk; this has been going on for a while, the last several chapters, but we just have not seen him progressing or disintegrating or anything like. And then there’s a huge explosion coming from where he was, and that’s when Dark Shadow gets sent back, and All For One says that strong types like that are the most annoying to deal with, and that’s when we see that he looks a lot younger than he really is—almost like a teenager, but still very dangerous.
This is pretty neat, and it makes sense given that he’s been fighting teenagers for the majority of the series; now that he’s the same age as them, he can better understand their perspective. I hope this particular iteration of All For One sticks around for a while; I’m enjoying seeing how he interacts with the rest of the UA students. I’m not sure if this has increased his strength in terms of how strong he is right now. I would have believed that the form that we have seen him in before this was like “prime,” especially considering he was able to utilise the enormous Dragon Ball Z strike in the previous episode. Well, I suppose time will tell. I wouldn’t be shocked if I somehow became stronger as a result of this, just because Horikoshi requires such strength from him. After launching a series of black tendril-like attacks on the heroes, he takes to the air and disappears. A few of the heroes, including Inasa, try to follow him, but the worst is yet to come; All For One, on the other hand, beams with delight at seeing Gigantomachia approaching from the same direction.
There is evidence that All For One has given him a directive to kill. the surviving heroes until the Hawk, speaking to Tsukaichi, reveals that things are better than they appear. Now, Machia unleashes a whole mountain upon All For One. On the last page, we see a severely wounded Kirishima perched atop Machia’s head. Machia, interacting with Tokoyami, exclaims, “We are here, too, and we will not allow him to get to Midoriya.” Besides Machia, Shinsou is shown using his Persona Chords, and the story ends there. That was a brilliant turn of events to use Machia against the bad guys here. Since Hiroshima and Ashido’s team were ostensibly guarding the Bunker where Machia was being held, we can assume that off-panel, they successfully conquered all of the villains that were going after Machia & they made him subservient to them; hence, we may see a flashback to their taking him down or however when in the next chapter. As for how they are subjugating Machia in this case, it is not revealed in the spoilers that Shinsou used his Persona Chords to reproduce the vocal recording of All For One, which Aoyama had admired at the start of this arc.
