We have not yet received the following chapter’s spoilers or raw scans, which are often made available four to five days before the chapter’s actual release. The upcoming chapter, though, will presumably feature more of the conflict between Kid and Shanks. At their first encounter, Kid was too far away from Shanks to even see his face. And now that he’s back, full of self-assurance, his supporters are likely to conclude that he’s stronger than Shanks was before and capable of defeating him.
Recap of One Piece Chapter 1076
In Chapter 1076, “Old Buddies,” we learned that Zoro had doubts that Lucci and Kaku would not allow them to cuff them again if they were released. Kaku persuaded Luffy that they would let them handcuff them. Zoro recognised Supa Supa no Mi as S-first Hawk’s strike, a soaring slash. Lucci answered that they were on a mission to destroy Vegapunk and his satellites, prompting Shaka to enquire further about their objective. Kaku was annoyed at Lucci for casually disclosing the mission. After hearing Nami cry, Zoro suspected there were more Seraphims nearby. By the end of it all, Luffy had begged Shaka for the keys to their handcuffs, and Shaka had agreed to give them to him on the condition that Luffy release Lucci and Kaku, so long as he guaranteed Stella’s safety. When Luffy questioned if Lucci intended to kill his buddies too, Lucci said he had Luffy in his sights first. Kaku and Zoro took a stand against S-Hawk as Luffy and Lucci took on S-Bear. However, it turned out that many CPO agents had been up for years.
The agents were assaulted by the Sea Beast Weapons as they tried to flee the island. Everyone else who had followed them as an agent was likewise caught. Inmates also mistook Vegapunk for the person who locked them in. Vegapunk seemed bewildered, and he may have been wondering how the World Government had gotten wind of his Poneglyphs study. Suddenly, we cut to Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates having a few beers. A youngster approached him and offered to go along on their adventure, but Shanks politely declined. One of Shanks’s guys alerted him that suddenly the Kid Pirates had arrived. When Shanks enlisted the aid of Brogy and Dorry in his struggle against the bad guys, they gladly accepted his offer. Meanwhile, he had Rockstar approach Kid with the idea of giving up the Road Poneglyph. Killer forewarned Kid about Shanks and reminded him of their previous battle, in which Kid never even saw Shanks’ face. The kid, though, was determined to battle Shanks.
