Warning: Some plot elements from the Black Clover manga have been revealed here.
Sister Lily was beginning to regress from her Paladin form when Asta stepped in to save her in the last chapter. Lucius’s preparations for the imminent Day of Judgment were exposed by her revelations. Asta, seeing Sister Lily pass out, thought it best to face the five-headed monster first before getting ready for the Day of Judgment.
Information about Yosuga’s past is revealed in the spoilers for Chapter 351 of Black Clover. Even though Asta used his anti-magic Zetten to battle the five-headed dragon in Chapter 351 of Black Clover, the monster was able to heal itself after being cut. Meanwhile, meanwhile, Yosuga is still engaged in battle with Paladin Heath Grice, who is complaining that Yosuga’s style was all show and no substance. Heath explains why he must not let go of Lucius’s quest to make the proper world. Yosuga proved Heath’s dedication to his commander, but he still had to triumph for Ryudo Ryuya.
Spoilers for Chapter 351 of Black Clover began to display Yosuga’s flashback as it was revealed that he was the heir of Koushuu, one of the five islands in the Land of the Sun and that he had been the strongest of his people ever since he was a young boy. Other than Ryuya, the heir of Goshuu, no one in the five provinces of the Land of the Sun could challenge him on equal terms. With the spoilers out of the way, the action shifts to a new location simply called “Tengentsu,” where Ryuya first uses his newfound abilities. It was once considered an all-seeing eye, the likes of which only Yosuga and Ryuuya have the yoryoku to achieve. In exchange for obtaining Tengentsu, however, one must sacrifice all of their yoryoku.
Yosuga, unwilling to risk losing his Yoryoku, opted against pursuing Tenegentsu. He argued that if he did not remain the country’s most powerful wizard, then having Tengentsu would be pointless. Still, Ryuya quickly agreed to take the eye, as he had no qualms about giving up his Yoryoku in return for the ability to see everything. Yosuga believed Ryuya was an idiot for making that choice since losing all of his Yoryoku may mean that he wouldn’t become the shogun. Ryu uncovered the plant and immediately began using the eye to help the humans. Ryuya’s popularity grew as he repeatedly saved lives, and soon it was time to select a new shogun.
Given his power, the Land of the Sun’s elites were inclined to choose Yosuga as the next shogun, but Yosuga instead anointed Ryuya as shogun. Chapter 351 of Black Clover centred on the battle between Paladin Heath and Yosuga, a member of the Ryuzen Seven who employed the skill “Iron Yojutsu: Iron Warrior” in this encounter. Then he sliced at Heath, perhaps killing the Paladin in one swift motion. Soon after, Ryuya proclaimed that he and the rest of the Ryuzen Seven were prepared to take on the five-headed dragon.
In conclusion, about spoilers for Chapter 351 of Black Clover:
Chapter 351 spoilers for Black Clover explained why and how Yosuga viewed the shogun as superior to him. He saw that Ryuya was prepared to sacrifice whatever he had in Yoryoku for the sake of the people. The power of Ryuya’s Tengentsu strikes was on full display now that he and the other Ryuzen Seven were fighting alongside them.

Details Revealed in Black Clover Chapter 351
To begin the next chapter of Black Clover, titled “With the Shogun of the Land of the Sun,” Asta will use anti-magic to fight the dragon. Concurrently, Yosuga engages Heath in the fight, noting that Heath isn’t particularly powerful and that his style is only showy. Heath says that he can’t afford to lose the person who will make the perfect world for Lucius. To which Yosuga replies, “Of course, from your point of view, it is only reasonable that you would think you’re correct.” Yosuga claims ignorance of Heath’s Shogun status while promising to kill Heath in defence of his own Shogun (Ryuya.) Yosuga was shown in a brief flashback to have been the heir of Koushuu, an island in the Land of the Sun, and the strongest person there since he was a little boy.
Only Ryuya, Goshuu’s successor, could compete with him in battle. Ryu and Yosuka used to compete against one another in friendly combat as kids to determine who would grow up to be a greater Shogun. Then it’s revealed that in Koushuu and Goshuu, a plague broke out, and plenty of people started dying. Some NPCs have said that a long-lost herb was the only thing that could have rescued the people and that the heroes must now seek out this same plant. After that, the chapter moved on to a discussion of “Tengentsu,” or Ryuya’s unique eye skill. Only someone with Yoryoku like Yosuga or Ryuya could get that kind of power, but anybody seeking Tengentsu would have to sacrifice all they had to get it.
Yosuka had a mental dialogue with himself, in which he said that it was incredible to see through everything with Tengentsu, but that such an ability would be useless without Yoryoku. Yosuka’s greatest concern was losing his Yoryoku, which made him the strongest. Yosuka placed such a high value on Yoryoku that he would rather see the helpless perish than risk losing his control. Ryu, on the other hand, was eager to give up his Yoryoku at once in order to help others. Yosuka questioned if Ryu was an idiot for giving up on his dream of becoming a Shogun. However, Ryu was able to locate the plant and save lives by relying on his keen eyesight. Yosuka was frustrated with Ryu, but Ryu didn’t stop serving customers.
Ryu’s humanity attracted more and more people to him, to the point that the Feudal Lords wanted to make him the next Shogun instead of Yosuga but couldn’t since Ryu didn’t have Yoryoku. The latter, however, flatly rejected the offer, declaring that Ryu was, in fact, a legitimate candidate for the position of Shogun. Right now, Yosuga and Heath are still at it. Yosuga unleashes the “Iron Yojutsu: Iron Warrior” strike, proclaiming that he is the superior fighter. In the end, Heath gets knocked out by a powerful blow. At the end of the chapter, Yosuga wonders if they should turn Asta into a man with Ryu-like aspirations.
