The trip through the Code Arc began in the previous episode of Boruto when Code returned to Kohana Village. Knowing what to expect from Code’s abilities, our heroes will need to train hard for the approaching conflict. Now, viewers are counting down the episodes until they can see Boruto face off against Code. An early look at the next episode, titled “Captive,” shows Code asking why he could not kill Eida despite being so powerful, and Bug responding by saying that Code had misjudged her. Boruto, Kawaki, and Sarada were also spotted having a serious conversation about Code and their next move.

Sai and Shikamaru saw the claw marks Code left behind, proving his return to Kohana. Code, on the other hand, was able to easily navigate the hidden base while eliminating any opposition he encountered. Kawaki then switched the focus to Boruto, explaining to him that he had special abilities and would be joining the fight against Code. A guard decided to face Code head-on, so he took a serum that would make him more powerful and approached Code. But Code easily defeated him, so the guard injected himself with additional serum, becoming a monstrous creature with superhuman strength. The guard, however, was still some distance away, and Code quickly dispatched him. When Kawaki and Boruto made plans to stop him, Code approached Bug and begged him to lead him to Eida. After a long time apart, Code was able to see Eida, rescue her from her cage, and fill her in on his past with Jigen and Boro.
