Sister Lily emerged from her Paladiness in the previous chapter. Unfortunately, the only way to get her up from her coma is to first vanquish Lucius. A moment before she lost consciousness, she told everyone about Lucius’s intention to change the world. In the next chapter, Asta and the others will presumably begin intensive preparations for their anticipated battle with Lucius.
Analyzing What Happened in Chapter 350
At the beginning of the last chapter, Sister Lily had a tumble, but Asta grabbed her and gently set her back down on the ground. She then apologised to him for everything horrible she had said and done to him and the others, but Asta was unmoved. She confided in Asta that she had joined the church in the hopes that one day all people would be treated equally and that the prejudice based on magic had made her unhappy. Despite her best efforts, she concluded that the church was no different from the rest of society in that regard. Ryuya cut her off, saying that she was the one who rescued Asta and that, since he had grown stronger, it was his turn to save her.
She continued stating that she wanted to locate people and assist them. Lily’s sobbing continued as she said the ultimate struggle for the Clover Kingdom would begin in three days, and that Lucius was preparing for the Day of Judgment. Lily had previously confirmed that Lucius was indeed fusing the Blood, Bone, and Body Magic of Zogratis’ Siblings with his own Soul Magic; Asta, however, realised that this meant Lucius would have the power to manipulate human consciousness and even create human beings out of thin air; this would make him a god. According to Lily, Lucius planned to seize control of all magic in the globe, including that of The Land of the Sun.
Weeping openly, Sister Lily apologised to everyone for her role in aiding Lucius and bringing unhappiness into their lives. Sister Lily eventually went unconscious, but Asta insists that it was not her fault. Ryu reassured him that she was still alive, but that they would have to beat Lucious to bring her back to life. Asta decided to take down Lucius and left Lily in Fumito’s care. Asta took charge at the end of the chapter, and she successfully slew the dragon.
