In the last episode of My Hero Academia, we learned about Toya’s family history and the hardships that they all feel responsible for. Hawks and Beast Jeanist fill Endeavour in on what’s going on and propose working together to take down Dabi. Deku was shown in the promo for the next episode in his Vestige World, where he assured the former One For All heroes that he could slay Shigaraki.
Recap
Toya was discovered to be more adept at using fire as a Quirk than his father had been, but his mother’s side of the family made him vulnerable to the effects of fire. His immunity to the cold, however, may be traced back to his mother. Endeavour stopped teaching Toya about his quirks and instead wed Rei Hemura so they could have children who might one day fight All Might. As soon as Shoto was born, Endeavour was delighted since he finally had the quirk combo he had always wanted, but this devastated Toya. After Toya’s attack on Shoto, Endeavour severed all ties between him and his siblings. Toya, who was prohibited from further developing his quirk, had already mastered it to the point that the colour of his fire had shifted from red to blue. Toya showed Endeavour his progress in training in the hopes that his father would be proud, but Endeavour instead vented his frustration at Rei for being powerless to halt Toya’s training.
After Rei’s emotional breakdown, Shoto got burnt and Rei ended up in the hospital. But Toya, overloaded by Quirk, set fire to the entire mountain and destroyed everything. Rei promised Endeavour that the family would aid him in his fight against Dabi, and the family confessed that everyone had contributed to Toya’s current predicament. Before thereafter, Hawks and Beast Jeanist showed up to fill him in on the latest developments and propose working together to address the pressing issues at hand. After Hawks questioned Endeavor about One For All, the latter revealed that he knew someone named Midoriya. All Might saw Midoriya at the episode’s finale as he spoke with former users of One For All.
