[New] Summaries for One Piece Episode 1049, Updates & Storyline, Spoilers Read Online

Review of Episode 1048
At the outset of One Piece episode 1048, the focus was on Kaido playing mind tricks with Yamato by constantly reminding them that Luffy would not return and the Raid would be pointless. But Yamato wouldn’t have any of it, so Kaido pointed out that they aren’t related and that when Yamato took on Oden’s identity, he cut all links to his own family. Momonosuke’s phobia of heights makes it impossible for him to fly as a dragon, further delaying their return to Onigashima.

The episode then took viewers back in time to see a young Yamato wield Conqueror’s Haki for the first time. As punishment for their defiance, Kaido threw them in jail and gave them the Oden name. After Oden’s execution, the three Daimyos of Wano rose up in revolt and freed, fed, and trained Yamato in One Piece episode 1048. Before escaping the cave and fighting Kaido to ensure Yamato’s safety, they gave her Odden’s notebook. After yet another present-day battle between Kaido and Yamato, the show abruptly concluded.

Typical Events for Episode 1049
The trailer for One Piece episode 1049 suggests that Luffy will go back to Onigashima. Fans are given something to look forward to when they witness him and Momonosuke plummeting into the flying island. The teaser cuts off before we witness their arrival back to Onigashima. There are more wonderful moments to come from that battle, though, as the trailer shows further talks and conflicts between Yamato and Kaido. Both Kaido and Yamato wear solemn looks, which may be a subtle indication towards the end of their relationship brought about by Yamato. At the very least, Zoro and Sanji’s relationship will be addressed in One Piece 1049, if the preview is any indication. It would make sense to provide fans with modest updates on each character and their clashes given the importance of their remaining battles versus the King and Queen in the Onigashima Raid.

On January 29, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. JST, the release of One Piece episode 1049 is scheduled. After last week’s exploration of Yamato’s history, viewers’ expectations shifted from anticipating Luffy’s return to hoping that the show would maintain its focus on Yamato’s battle against Kaido. Momonosuke’s difficulties in transporting Luffy back to Onigashima are contributing to the shift in expectations. Due to the availability of verified spoiler material for One Piece episode 1049, it is presently impossible to tell if this will be the case. At least now fans know when to expect the much-anticipated episode to air.

When/where can we expect the premiere?
Episode 1049 of One Piece will premiere on Japanese television at 9:30 a.m. JST on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
