The release of One Piece chapter 1073 is slated on January 29, 2023, at 12 am JST. On January 24 and 25, spoilers, descriptions, and raw scans for the next chapter were revealed, exposing a lot of critical information and validating some of the assumptions fans had after the publication of chapter 1072. Raw scans feature many notable events, including a confrontation between Stussy and Lucci, a battle between Zoro and S-Hawk, and the appearance of a Gorosei member with Kizaru. Weevil and Stussy are linked, and Oda strongly implies that they are clones of one other.
In Chapter 1073 of One Piece, Jegarcia Saturn, a member of the Gorosei, shows up as Stussy is fighting Lucci. When we first see Stussy in the raw scans for chapter 1073 of One Piece, she is facing off against one of her CP0 allies. In vengeance for what Stussy did to Kaku, Lucci lashes out at her, but she effortlessly avoids his attack by destroying what he thinks is a hallucination. Then, just like she did to Kaku, Stussy quickly sneaks up behind Lucci and bites him on the neck. He loses consciousness and collapses on the floor as a result. In a showdown between two of the most powerful CP0 agents, Stussy triumphs handily. Zoro is shown next to Kaku and Lucci’s unconscious bodies, as Brooks watches the chaos unfold from a safe distance. A panel shows Stussy coolly stating something, and then the next show Usopp shouting at the rest of the group. Spoiler alert! Stussy is the unknown buddy Vegapunk begged for assistance from in Chapter 1071 of One Piece.
In the following panel, the Seraphims are shown flying toward the humans and preparing to launch a coordinated attack. As Zoro charges at them, the S-Snake, S-Bear, and S-Shark are all seen getting ready to pounce. When S-Hawk picks Lillith out of the crowd and charges, we see her emerge from Lab Stratum. Zoro intervenes just in time to prevent any harm to the victim. S-Hawk appears stunned in the face of Zoro’s might. Edison pops up in the background as they exchange punches. Edison is mid-sentence when S-Shark strikes; Sanji comes to the rescue. Spoilers in the text indicate that Edison was attempting to issue a halt order to all the Seraphims before he was assaulted by S-Shark. By the end, he’s able to issue the command, and the Seraphim immediately cease their onslaught. In the meanwhile, Luffy may be seen calling out to anybody he can find while rushing throughout the Lab Stratum. According to the chapter synopsis, Luffy was on the hunt for the first Vegapunk at this point.
The focus then switches to a conversation between Marco and a little boy who recounts a narrative from the past for Marco. There is a scene where marines terrorise the youngster and the other villagers. According to the spoiler text, the boy is originally from Sphinx Island, which Marco abandoned to fight alongside Luffy in Wano. During this time, the marines arrived on the island and began terrorising the locals. Weevil helps the islanders defend themselves against the marines. Because of his superior strength, he easily defeats them and sends them fleeing. As Miss Bakkin emerges in the background, the youngster excitedly recounts the entire scenario to Marco. As soon as Miss Bakkin finishes a sentence with Marco, she bursts into tears. Spoiler texts showed that Miss Bakkin was discussing rescuing Weevil from Ryokugyu with Marco. She also instructed Marco to check with Vegapunk on his son’s ancestry, which she revealed in their conversation.
The action then cuts to naval vessels, probably on their way to Egghead Island. Kizaru may be seen chatting with a Gorosei member inside one of the ships. Spoilers from the text indicate that the Gorosei member’s name is Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. He expresses dissatisfaction with the present state of affairs while recalling a former encounter with Vegapunk. Fans have speculated that Saturn is connected to Pluton, Poseidon, or Uranus, the Ancient Weapons. Since Saturn is at the top of the World Government’s food chain and is now on the high seas to prevent the Straw Hats and Vegapunk from fleeing, this idea does have some merit to it. In the forthcoming chapters of One Piece, it will be fascinating to see if this idea proves correct.
