The cherry blossoms of the fight between heroes and villains are the narrator’s recollections that open My Hero Academia Chapter 377. So, the heroes were put in a bind, and the bad guys had all the power. It was clear that a head-on clash would be disastrous given the vast numerical disparity between the two sides, so our heroes opted for a strategy that involved splitting their foes apart instead. However, the heroes’ divide-and-conquer tactic backfired due to the strong wind. As Eraserhead, Monoma, and Manual return to the U.A. Flying Fortress, a portal opens behind them. Eraserhead recognises the significance of Present Mic’s presence in the gateway and so has a firm grasp on the events unfolding before them.
Monoma looks away from AFO Shigaraki as Twice’s clones emerge through the portal and begin assaulting Eraserhead and the others. Afterwards, everyone is taken aback by the shock of a gigantic explosion that wipes out the U.A. power plant. The heroes can no longer blast replacement components to the surface since the power plant’s integrity has been compromised. And even if the electric barrier has not been breached, it is operating at a fraction of its original strength. Mandalay uses her power to inform the heroes that someone has taken over the system that keeps U.A. afloat and is not responding.
It has been determined that Skeptic is the hacker responsible for breaking into the University of Arizona’s computer network. The Phantom Thief may have been put unconscious, according to Mandalay’s assessment, and the monitoring island is currently under attack. In addition, Erasure is now useless, giving AFO Shigaraki a decent chance of evading capture. Mandalay emphasises to everyone that if U.A. crashes into Earth, AFO Shigaraki will annihilate the entire planet. Just before the bomb went off, something appeared to moult out of AFO Shigaraki’s back. Deku, puzzled, turns to AFO Shigaraki, asking whether or not he is still around. When Shigaraki answers Deku’s query, Deku is taken aback by the sudden realisation that Shigaraki’s old personality is slowly creeping back into him.
Deku takes into account the news from Mandalay in addition to Shigaraki’s sudden shift. U.A. will need to switch gears quickly if he ends up on the floor. He needs to keep U.A. from going down and prevent Shigaraki from escaping with the help of Kurogiri. The more he tries to outrun Shigaraki, the slower his gear change becomes. He risks losing the ability to breathe and fight if he does not give his cells time to rest. The second OFA user, however, is adamant that Deku keep fighting. After all, AFO’s fusion with Shigaraki’s body is gradually growing more unstable to his senses. Deku needs to keep going since it looks like Shigaraki is having trouble keeping his body under control. Over at the U.A., Skeptic is ecstatic about his newfound power. He thinks that in the name of emancipation, the heroes and scum of the old system will be eliminated. The subterranean shelter network is also under his entire command. The ex-villain who uploaded videos, La Brava, finally found him and joined the heroes’ side in the fight, dampening his initial elation.
