The Kingdom series by Yasuhisa Hara is highly regarded among fans of historical fiction in the Seinen subculture. After being turned into an anime series by Studio Pierrot, with director Jun Kamiya at the helm, the show’s popularity exploded. The fourth season of the anime ended this year on October 2, and viewers are eagerly awaiting the return of the show for a fifth season.
The official anime website announced the beginning date for the fifth season, which will air in 2024, shortly after the fourth season’s conclusion. Kan Ki, one of the Six Great Generals of Qin and better known by his epithet The Beheader, first appeared in episode 17 of season 1 and has since been featured in a short teaser for season 5.
When will the fifth season of Kingdom be out, and where can I get it?
The release window for the official Kingdom season 5 teaser has been revealed, but no firm date has been set. Looking at the release schedules of the past four seasons, we can estimate that the fifth instalment will arrive between April and July of 2024. The teaser implied that an airing decision was imminent, at which point the full cast, crew, and opening/closing themes would be made public.

Funimation purchased the rights to simulcast the anime in June 2012. The anime was added to Crunchyroll’s extensive collection after Sony’s purchase of the streaming service. Since the first four seasons of the anime are currently available on Crunchyroll, the fifth season will also be added in due time.
Fans have the option of watching the episode for free with a number of advertisements or signing up for a premium subscription with a 14-day free trial on Crunchyroll. Kingdom’s whole four-season run is available on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, but only in specific territories.
Expected Plot
In a country ravaged by conflict, a young king and an unidentified boy have both come of age. Although he and the future king, Zheng, started out on bad terms, the young warrior Xin has proven himself time and time again on the battlefield. While Xin strives to become a Great General, Zheng’s goal is to unite all of the warring states under the Qin Empire. As a result of their efforts, the course of history will be altered.
What can we anticipate from the fifth season?
With its fourth season, Kingdom covered the events of volumes 34 and 41, from chapters 364 to 441. The season spanned 26 episodes. The Six Great Generals’ Whereabouts, the penultimate episode of Season 4, didn’t even wrap up the Koku You Campaign arc, the sixteenth story arc of the story, so the fifth episode will continue Ri Shin, Ei Sei, and Ou Hon’s rise to power.
