Some disturbing information about the last arc of My Hero Academia was just leaked in raw scans for chapter 377. The advent and rapid multiplication of Twice clones on the battlefield between Tomura Shigaraki and Izuku Midoriya is a disturbing development. On the other hand, Neito Monoma’s attention is diverted away from Tomura Shigaraki for a nanosecond as he watches Twice’s clones.
For a number of volumes in the My Hero Academia manga, Monoma’s use of his own Erasure Quirk, a clone of Aizawa’s, has been a key factor in the Heroes’ victory against Shigaraki. Now that Shigaraki has even a short window of opportunity to employ his Quirks, the worst potential catastrophe is imminent. Favourite among My Hero Academia readers As Shigaraki’s Quirks go unchecked, Shota Aizawa is only one of many Heroes at risk.
Unfortunately, the conclusion of My Hero Academia chapter 377 does not reveal whether or not Monoma has resumed using Erasure on Shigaraki. Therefore, it is likely that he is not utilising it again. Probably because the Twice clones put distance between him and Aizawa, whose Erasure Quirk Monoma was stealing, and Manual, who was there to lend a hand to the two. Given how long Shigaraki and his Quirks will be allowed to go unchecked, it’s possible that this may be the Heroes’ undoing. If Monoma doesn’t quickly regain position alongside Aizawa, he might end up being one of the big fatalities caused by his temporary attention.
Also, while Shigaraki has complete command of his Quirks, he plans to go for the Eraser Head. If either Aizawa or Monoma is eliminated, there is no chance that his Quirks will be contained on this battlefield again, which would have far-reaching consequences. This might be an indication of a critical threshold beyond which the Heroes have little hope of recovering the situation. It’s realistic to assume Midoriya will have trouble fighting Shigaraki, who now has access to all of his Quirks, but the green-haired protagonist isn’t likely to perish because of this. To the extent that Midoriya comes dangerously close to death, it will very certainly be a set-up from which he will miraculously recover thanks to some outside force.
Shigaraki may also go after Katsuki Bakugo, Best Jeanist, or Edgeshot in the next issues. Shigaraki had planned to murder the former as a “gift” to Midoriya, but the former’s attempts to repair and resuscitate Bakugo would render the latter two useless.
Fans of My Hero Academia have voiced their displeasure with the fake-out aspect of Bakugo’s destiny, thus this would be a bittersweet resolution to his current storyline. At the very least, this would put an end to one of the most frustrating parts of the series’ final arc thus far.
The use of Decay or another Quirk against Bakugo’s body is one way to stop him from becoming better, although Best Jeanist and Edgeshot are also viable options. The former is helping while the latter repairs internal damage in Bakugo’s body. If either were to be eliminated, Bakugo would likely not be saved, making Midoriya very angry and fulfilling Shigaraki’s initial purpose. Fan-favourite Threats exist not only to Mirko and the Big 3 but also to the other heroes of My Hero Academia. Both of the former’s arms and one of its legs have been amputated.
However, her most recent attack on the villain, in which she battled against him despite her wounds, proved that she is still one of the greatest dangers to Shigaraki on the battlefield. Some of the most experienced and capable fighters now on the battlefield, the Big 3 of Tamaki Amajiki, Nejire Hado, and Mirio Togata are also great targets. Fans of My Hero Academia would be devastated if any of their favourite characters were hurt or killed now, but Shigaraki might use this moment to his advantage.
