[Updated] Spoilers for One Piece chapter 1070 Raw Scans, Storyline, Summaries & Expectations

One Piece, the best-selling manga of all time, has been red hot since the Wano Arc concluded. Each new instalment in the Egghead Arc has been very well received. To wit, even covers have started to feature more engaging content. One Piece canonically incorporates cover stories in their entirety. These chapters’ cover pages feature short stories that follow a few characters following their initial meetings with the Strawhat Pirates. The Vinsmoke brothers’ escape from Whole Cake Island was detailed in an offshoot narrative titled “Germa 66’s ahh… an emotionless adventure,” which appeared in recent chapters of One Piece.

One Piece chapter 1070 carried the latest segment of this cover story, which includes a bombshell discovery regarding MADS, a former illicit research team. Did Stussy join MADS? Evidence suggests that the horrifying reality is hinted at in One Piece chapter 1070.

What do we know about the causes of MADS?
At least 24 years before the events of this story’s narration, MADS was conducting a covert scientific study. However, the report did reveal that MADS was made up of a group of highly regarded researchers that worked together. The readers of One Piece have yet to learn their function. The MADS crew travelled the seven seas in their floating laboratory. They advertised it as a “research lab for peace” and even flew a white flag that said “pacifist” to emphasise the point. The mob’s big shot Du Feld not only donated the research vessel but also the required funds. Doctor Vegapunk, Judge Vinsmoke, Queen, and Caesar Clown are the only MADS members that have been introduced thus far.

Dr Vegapunk, widely regarded as the best scientist in the world, has been promoted to command the Marines’ SSG, the squad and project that bears his name. It appears, however, that he is not entirely faithful to the World Government. King of the Germa, and leader of the Germa 66, Judge Vinsmoke holds both titles. In addition to being the family patriarch, Judge is also Sanji’s biological father. Queen, a cyborg who had added mechanical parts to his body, was the most powerful member of the Beasts Pirates. The Wano Arc features Queen’s downfall at Sanji’s hands. Caesar Clown has mastered the art of making and using chemical weapons. Caesar, a former servant of Doflamingo and afterwards Big Mom, has been an adversary of the Strawhat Pirates throughout the Punk Hazard Arc.

These researchers have all established themselves as top-tier experts in their respective fields. Cybernetics, synthetic Devil Fruits, gigantification, cloning, and even synthetic illnesses are all products of their research. Because of this, the World Government labelled them criminals when they collaborated as MADS. Because of this, MADS was targeted and eventually disbanded. Higher-ups in the World Government viewed Dr Vegapunk’s work and discoveries on the Lineage Factor as particularly threatening, and they consequently ordered his arrest. Eventually, though, Vegapunk and his aides were integrated into the Marines’ scientific branch.

Where does one find this person known as Stussy?
Stussy is a CP0 agent that debuted in the storyline centred on Whole Cake Island. She is a master of covert operations, blending into the underground by posing as a successful entrepreneur. Due to her status as a disguised spy, Stussy is among CP0’s highest-ranking members. She has learned the Rokushiki to the point that she can perform advanced versions of various techniques, including a refined Shigan, which is evidence of her skill.

Since the Levely Arc, Stussy has frequently been shown with Lucci and Kaku, suggesting that the three of them have formed a trio. Recently, the World Government assigned the duty of assassinating Dr Vegapunk to the three disguised agents of CP0. In order to find Vegapunk and his six satellite bodies, Lucci, Kaku, and Stussy travelled to Egghead Island and promptly began wreaking mayhem there. It’s interesting to note that Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has seemingly alluded to Stussy’s previous visit to Egghead Island.

The possible reasons why One Piece 1070 alluded to Stussy’s past membership in MADS
The Vinsmoke children and Caesar’s return to the Germa Kingdom after departing Whole Cake Island were depicted on the cover of “Germa 66’s ahh… an emotionless trip.” But when they ran across Judge Vinsmoke, an instant brawl broke out between the judge and Caesar. They talked about their time in MADS while they battled. This flashback is included in the One Piece chapter 1069 cover story, which reveals that Du Feld was the MADS group’s financial backer.

The discovery that MADS had five members, not four, was a shocking turn of events, and it was featured prominently on the cover of the issue of One Piece which included chapter 1070. One Piece chapter 1070 revealed a female scientist to be the fifth member of MADS, joining the four men who had previously been revealed. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda chose to sketch the woman from behind, concealing her identity on purpose. But it’s not out of the question that the enigmatic woman is actually the current disguised agent of CP0, known only as Stussy. The cover art for One Piece chapter 1070 features a female scientist who looks quite similar to her in appearance.

Short, wavy hair and a slim build characterise both Stussy and the female scientist. The unidentified woman, like Stussy, also dons a cap and fishnet stockings. It’s uncanny how similar they seem to one another. Moreover, Stussy was well-versed in all the peculiarities and security measures of Vegapunk’s lab. She even made a wistful remark about her time spent on Egghead. Fans were taken aback by this turn of events, but it strongly suggests she had been to Egghead before. All the pieces of proof don’t end here. Stussy was shown to have some knowledge of Du Feld, who was recently revealed to be the funder of MADS, during the Whole Cake Island Arc, which included her first comparison in the series.
Although Stussy’s actual age has not been disclosed, it has been insinuated that her youthful appearance is deceptive.

She clearly takes this issue extremely seriously, as seen by her angry reprimand of whoever brought it up. Oddly enough, Du Feld, a person engaged with MADS, was the one who mentioned Stussy’s age. In order to throw off his readers and their hypotheses, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda is not beyond planting huge red herrings. The odds of Stussy being the elusive fifth member of MADS are strong, though, because of the plethora of indications we’ve seen thus far, some of which are rather informative.

Concluding Ideas

Cover art for One Piece chapter 1070 reveals that in addition to Vegapunk, Judge, Caesar, and Queen, the MADS organisation also consisted of another member. It’s worth noting that the unknown individual was a lady. The fact that the female scientist was none other than CP0 agent Stussy is quite liable, given the significant pieces of evidence that Oda purposefully left. It’s possible that she was a spy the World Government sent within MADS to either destroy the organisation from inside or collect intel on its operations.

It’s also possible that she didn’t officially join the World Government until after MADS was disbanded. It’s true that in One Piece, you can’t just throw anything out. It’s even conceivable that Stussy is faithful to Vegapunk and has been working with the scientist all along to plot against the World Government. Stussy’s membership in MADS and her true loyalties will be revealed in subsequent chapters, depending on the choices she makes. After leaving readers wanting more background information, Eiichiro Oda will most likely tie everything up neatly.
