Edgeshot stepped forward in chapter 364 of My Hero Academia to try to repair Bakugo’s heart after Shigaraki broke it in the previous chapter. Utilizing his ability, he shrunk himself to the size of surgical stitches and began working on Bakugo from the inside out. The procedure is said to reduce Edgeshot’s lifetime, although it was unclear if the pro hero could be extracted from Bakugo’s body at a later date.

With his passing, many readers could have decided to stop reading the manga altogether. Horikoshi and the Shueisha editors understandably don’t want to lose him. However, there was no hard evidence that Bakugo was still alive or that the Edgeshot had successfully revived him. Supporters of Bakugo might take heart from this piece of art. In past favorability ratings, Horikoshi has been known to foreshadow forthcoming twists. In the Fifth Popularity Poll Artwork, he alludes to Bakugo’s Strafe Panzer.
