Team Z always seems to find a way to pull off a miraculous come-from-behind win despite the odds being stacked against them. Team Z has risen to the top of the regime thanks to their ability to capitalise on their individual strengths and hone those strengths with each battle. And now, in the next episode, we’ll find out if they won or lost their battle against Team V and whether or not they’ll continue to be a part of Blue Lock.
Previous Events on Blue Lock:
Isagi is dumbfounded by Nagi’s ball mastery and goal-scoring prowess from such a precarious position. Upon resumption of play, Reo steals the ball from Kunigami and sets up Nagi for a second goal, doubling the score. Despite Chigiri’s best efforts to score with his speed weapon, Team V’s Zantetsu is shockingly quicker and steals the ball from Chigiri to achieve the third goal for Team V. Bachira is satisfied with the way things are going, despite the fact that Team Z is practically out of the chance of winning.
If the other side is consistently scoring spectacular goals, he argues, then the goals scored by his team must be unique as well. Bachira grabs the ball and uses his superior dribbling skills—including a step over, roulette, and air elastico—to beat the defence of Team V and put the ball in the back of the net. A goal by Bachira inspires the squad, and from then on, they fight with everything they’ve got. As play restarts, Reo feeds Zantetsu, who in turn finds Nagi. He attempts a goal, but Igarashi blocks it by bringing the ball close to his face. Isagi encourages Kunigami by dubbing him a superhero when Bachira delivers the ball to him.
In spite of sending the ball well beyond his 28-meter range, he still manages to score.
After the break, play resumes as Zantetsu stops a scorpion kick from Gagamaru. Isagi spends the whole game contemplating how he may improve in the final minutes and yet manage to score. If he were as inept as Isagi, Nagi says, he would have quit football long ago. In the last moments of the episode, Chigiri receives the ball and Zantetsu tries to steal it from him. Yet, Chigiri threads a pass through some open space outruns Zantetsu, and scores to tie the game at three goals apiece.
