Episode 1040 Recap
Time is running out for Nami, Otama, Usopp, and Speed. Daifugo and Gazelle-man provide cover while the enemy rushes after them. Nami also backs Zeus because she begs him to give her a mate. He followed up his initial attempts by unleashing lightning strikes. While more troops make adjustments, the killings are halted temporarily. In the latest update from CP0, the fight is between 16:00 and 19:00. According to Whos Who, he still holds a vendetta towards Shanks from back in 2005. Since she battled Kaido, she claims Luffy would never return. At the same time, Jimbei conceals the news that Luffy is still alive and planning to return. Jimbei’s loyalty to Luffy is called into question by Whos Who, but Jimbei claims that even hell cannot fathom his feelings for Luffy.
His past associations with Luffy and the Straw Hats were criticised by Jimbei. While they are engaged in battle, Whos Who recounts to Jimbei the time he was arrested. When he needed prayer, he turned to Nika, the Sun. And then he turns to Jimbei and inquires about the Sun Pirates, some of whose members were formerly enslaved people. Whos Who feared he was in danger if he learned about the myth of the Sun God, therefore he questioned Jimbei’s knowledge of the subject. If Jimbei becomes upset, he gains strength.
