As though he were running late to class, he runs to the bathroom and jumps in the shower. Takemichy doubts that it is indeed him because of the drastic changes in his appearance. Takemichy recognises himself in the reflection and thinks back to first grade. He also recalls the final moments he spent with Mickey. Takemichy is extremely behind since he is in the future and is currently in the first grade.
In a similar vein, Takemichy experienced a premortal epiphany that let him understand how young he was. After realising he is running late, he rushes to the kitchen to grab some breakfast. Takemichy eventually shows up at Mickey’s house and knocks on the door. When the strange man enters, he wonders who the heck the bell-ringing brat might be. Since he doesn’t recognise Takemichy, he wonders why he’s in Mickey’s residence. That guy admits he’s going to severely hurt Takemichy. Morning flights are avoided after Emma’s arrival and a request to Baji to calm down. Upon rising, Takemichi sees that Mickey’s companions are trickling in one by one. As they converse, an odd man who is smoking what seems like pot joins them. Takemichiy has a sudden epiphany: he recognises the man. The man smoking what looks like cannabis is actually Shinichiro, he thinks. When Haru and Chiyo show up there, Shinichiro asks Baji what’s up with him. Hearing Sanzu’s voice made Takemichy happy. A puzzled Shinichiro inquires of Manjiro as to the cause of his tardy morning awakening. Takemichy had a sudden epiphany: he time travelled and he knew it. Baji, Shinichiro, and Emma stoop before Takemichy, and Baji demands to know who the cowardly brat is.
