The fifth episode of Blue Lock will air on TV Asahi on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 1:30 a.m. JST. The episode will be streamed on Crunchyroll worldwide, with a few exclusions where the anime will be shown on Netflix instead. Both Isagi’s Team Z and Team Y had a rough start, losing their first game, and so they faced off against one other in last week’s show. Due to the high stakes, a loss would be devastating for both sides. If they do, it might be the end of their professional football career before their third game has even started.

The fifth episode of Blue Lock: what to anticipate?
In episode 5 of Blue Lock, Yoichi Isagi and Ikki Niko will compete in an effort to win the match for their respective teams. Gagamaru scored an equaliser on a tap-in after a deflected attempt by Isagi early in the second half. Despite Team Z’s initial assumption that Okawa Hibiki was the backbone of Team Y, Isagi revealed that it was actually Niko who had been blocking the other team’s counterattack all along.
Recap of Last Episode 4
In the fourth episode of Blue Lock, “Premonition and Intuition,” Team Z was tasked with devising tactical plans to improve their football performance. After discussing their individual strengths, Kuon Wataru came up with a plan whereby they would all trade places every ten minutes so that everyone could take part in the offence. Afterwards, Rensuke tracked down Isagi in the cafeteria to express his appreciation for the assistance he provided in the opening game.
Over the course of their conversation, the two appeared to get well acquainted as they discussed football. Team Y and Team Z took the field for the second day of the competition, with the latter putting more emphasis on Team Y’s star player, Hibiki. A strange feeling pervaded the stadium as Niko passed to Hibiki, putting Team Y up early. With a header by Gagamaru, Team Z won a corner kick early in the second half and promptly returned to their strategy.
Isagi, recognising Niko as Team Y’s most important player, marked him during the corner kick and reclaimed possession of the ball after his team had cleared it. However, Niko managed to block Isagi’s attempt at a shot. Nonetheless, Gagamaru scored with a tap-in to make it 1-1.
