In Episode 5 of Season 6 of My Hero Academia, titled “The Thrill of Destruction,” Tokoyami saves Hawks from Dabi’s murder at the last minute. After Dabi’s monologue in an attempt to halt the bird’s heroes, Tokoyami used the chance to flee with Hawks, who had become unconscious. As a result of Shigaraki’s Decay, X-Less was slain, and the whole hospital was consumed, forcing the heroes to retreat.

In the midst of the hospital’s destruction, Crust gave his life so that Eraser Head may be spared. In the meantime, the pioneering One For All user alerts Deku of the reawakening of Shigaraki and the citywide spread of the Decay. Finally, Shigaraki calls upon Gigantomachia, declaring that the end of the world as we know it has come.
