There Will Be a Fanged-Out Sequel to “Monster High: The Movie” Release Date & Everything you need to know

A follow-up to Nickelodeon’s Monster High: The Movie has been officially approved. The idea to make a sequel to Monster High The Movie was prompted by the box office success of the original film, which opened to over 4 million viewers in its opening weekend and went on to become Paramount+’s most-watched Kids and Family Movie ever. Filming on the sequel has already begun, with a January start date set for Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Teenage offspring of well-known monsters and beasts star in Monster High, the movie adaptation of a very successful Mattel toy line. Monster High dolls, accessories, clothing, video games, and even an animated series have all been spawned from Mattel’s original 2010 toy line.

Since its inception, the monster-themed product line has expanded to include a wide variety of characters and even newer generations, all of which have been lauded for their positive messages of acceptance and self-love. Monster High: The Movie was the first live-action film in the franchise, while several animated films had previously been made based on the series. Screenwriters Matt Eddy and Billy Eddy are keeping things familiar by bringing back the same cast and crew for the sequel. We can’t wait to share the terrifyingly exciting new chapter of this cherished property with our viewers. “We are excited to continue telling the story of these beloved characters from Monster High,” said Nickelodeon co-heads Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan.

Beastly Great Clawdeen Wolf (Miia Harris) enrols at Monster High with a deadly secret, and the film traces her journey there. Her companions Draculaura (Nayah Damson) and Frankie Stein (Ceci Ballot) assist her in becoming comfortable in her monster form while protecting the school and its kids from harm. Case Walker, Steve Valentine, Kyle Selling, Marci T. House, Lina Lecompte, Scotch Ellis Loring, and Justin Derickson are among the many actors featured in the film.

The original film’s director and executive producer, Todd Holland (famous for helming the comedy Malcolm in the Middle), is back for the sequel, and he and Mattel TV’s representatives are working closely together to make the movie. Paramount+ will begin airing and streaming the sequel sometime in 2023. It has been announced that Nickelodeon will debut the animated Monster High series on Friday, October 28 at 7 pm, just in time for Halloween.
