It appears that next season may bring a new face to the halls of the Arconia. According to Deadline, Jesse Williams, formerly of Grey’s Anatomy, has joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building for its upcoming third season. The second season of the Hulu series concluded in August, and it appears that some secrets are already in the works for the next third season. Williams portrays a documentary filmmaker who develops an interest in the subject Mabel Mora, Charles Haden-Savage, and Oliver Putman are investigating for their apartment building podcast.
Williams spent a total of twelve years as a regular cast member on the hit ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. Williams portrayed Dr Jackson Avery in the medical drama series set at a hospital. In addition to his acting career, he has starred in various films, including the underground hit The Cabin in the Woods. In addition to his acting work, Williams has also worked as a teacher & an activist. For his performance in the Broadway version of Take Me Out, he was just nominated for a Tony Award. Hulu’s only big hit is Murders in the Building. Starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, the show centres on three polar opposites who share a luxury apartment on the West Side of Manhattan.
The first season followed the three of them as they worked together to investigate a murder in their building and maintained a podcast about their experiences. Season 2 of the show launched this past summer, and it featured the trio as potential suspects in a murder. Special guest stars like Shirley MacLaine piled up during the show’s second season. The second season of the show also included Amy Schumer and Cara Delevingne. Williams’s appointment is the first major casting announcement for the upcoming third season, which will begin filming before the year’s end. In July of this year, only Murders in the Building was renewed for a third season. 20th Television is responsible for making the show.
This season, the show received a total of 17 Emmy nominations and took home three awards. Steve Martin, who stars in the sitcom, and John Hoffman conceived it together. Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal serve as executive producers for the show, and Martin is one of them as well. There has been no confirmation of when Season 3 will begin airing.
