For My Hero Academia chapter 370, AFO does not have Spinner’s best interests in mind. As Present Mic and a few Class 1-A students are left to deal with Spinner while the rest of the Pro Heroes deal with other issues, the Pro Heroes have every cause to dread Spinner and his enormous army of Mutant Quirk users. Spinner is viewed as a hero by many in the mutant army. My Hero Academia chapter 370 introduces a group of extremely driven villains who, without miraculous intervention, may easily seize control of the Central Hospital. Yet, it’s possible that AFO is just exploiting Spinner to get what he wants.
In reality, Kurogiri is AFO’s greatest weapon.
There is good cause for the mutant army to hate humans, but what started out as a desire for justice has transformed into a thirst for revenge. My Hero Academia chapter 370 features Mezo Shoji’s direct questioning of their motivations. Humans and mutants can’t mend their fences by attacking a medical facility. AFO, being self-centred, cares not one iota about any of that. The true prize is Kurogiri and his Warp Gate Quirk. Since Kurogiri is probably stationed in the Central Hospital, Spinner’s primary objective is to free him so that AFO may employ his teleportation abilities.
No matter what happens in Chapter 370 of My Hero Academia, the heroes must not allow Kurogiri to be captured by evil. If Neito Monoma were to use the Erasure Quirk to neutralise AFO/abilities, Shigaraki’s then someone may teleport into the same room as him.
The Spinner is just another one-time-use device. What a nasty monster AFO is, looking out for number one exclusively for himself. Even his comrades have had to deal with his egocentric behaviour even before the events of My Hero Academia chapter 370. Despite Tomura Shigaraki’s protests, he attempted a fusion with him during the Paranormal Liberation War.
Same position for Spinner, and it’s quite clear he’s just a pawn to AFO. Spinner’s new Gigantomachia Quirk isn’t going to help him much against someone like Izuku Midoriya. A quicker route to Kurogiri is what AFO is looking for. AFO need not be concerned about the difficulties faced by the mutant group. The army could probably just rush down to the hospital and take his treasure without his even being there. In this chapter of My Hero Academia, Spinner is only a tool for AFO, like so many others before him.
That Spinner lacks the ability to reason independently is tragic
After what happened in the most recent chapter, it’s evident that Spinner can no longer think rationally. The mutant army is calling out to him, but he can’t make out a word of what they’re saying. Words like “power” and “All For One” are all he can think of, therefore it’s apparent he was brainwashed. It’s quite consistent with AFO’s personality for him to sink to a new low.
Too bad Spinner is just a lock and key. Ultimately, he cannot turn the course of the ultimate conflict on his own, but he may be releasing Kurogiri. If AFO wants to beat Midoriya in the last fight, he’ll need his hidden weapon.
