Blue Lock Episode 4 Release Date, Spoilers, Leaks, Updates & Much More

As the Blue Lock Program’s first round of selections gets underway, Team Z will compete against Team X. Yoichi is the starting centre forward, but everyone else is trying to outscore him. In Blue Lock Episode 4, does Team Z have what it takes to beat out the other teams and move on to the second selection?

A Review of Episode 3 of Blue Lock
If a team doesn’t make the cut in the first pick, they’re out of luck for good, but the top three scorers on the losing squad still move on to the next round. At the Team Z locker room, Yoichi beats out the other players in a game of rock-paper-scissors, earning him the right to start in the forward position. He’s the one everyone else on the squad will be looking to for goals when they take against Team X. A Video Assistant Referee will be on hand to make all foul calls in the 45-minute match between teams Z and X. (VAR). The game has begun, and Yoichi is already thinking about where he stands with Blue Lock. His teammates, notably Raichi and Kunigami, take advantage of his lack of self-assurance by stealing the ball from him. Yoichi quickly realises that the players have abandoned their teams in order to fight amongst one another. Team X’s Shoei Baro abruptly takes the ball and sprints ahead, threatening to murder everyone who goes in his path.

Shoei avoids Yoichi’s grasp by use of a heel flick. He nutmegged Kuon and Imamura in quick succession to score Team X’s opening goal. Shoei boldly proclaims this, implying that the soccer ball is nothing more than a spherical servant whose main purpose is to make him seem good. He also sets himself apart from fellow soccer players who treat the ball like a companion. And most significantly, he claims to be King when he’s playing. Team Z tries to get back on track, but most of Yoichi’s teammates care more about scoring for themselves than their allocated roles. Therefore, Team X takes advantage of the situation afforded by Team Z’s demise and starts getting themselves in order. The group conspired to get the ball into Shoei’s hands so he could score and put the team ahead. This prompted Yoichi and the rest of Team Z to start marking Shoei, which ultimately led to Team X’s second goal.

As Team X continues to rack up the goals, Yoichi is struck by how effectively they are working together. Further, he understands that Team X was able to cooperate because of Shoei’s initial objective, but Team Z is still at odds with one another. Bachira had pleaded with Yoichi to put in a goal during the game’s closing three minutes when Team X’s defences will be down owing to the large deficit. Yoichi takes the shot while Team X is distracted by Bachira’s long ball upfield. In a surprising move, Shoei has already marked Yoichi. Yoichi is debating whether to pass to Kunigami, and Raichi or try to go past Shoei on his own. Yoichi unexpectedly tosses the ball to Kunigami, and to everyone’s astonishment, Kunigami scores the first goal for Team Z. Raichi becomes upset at Yoichi for giving the ball to Kunigami while in Blue Lock.

Shoei, meantime, says that Yoichi isn’t cut out for the role of the striker since he got jittery when he was close to the goal. Contrarily, Yoichi maintains, to no one’s surprise, that his body accidentally delivered the ball to Kunigami. As a result, Team X triumphs against Team Z with a final score of 5-1. Yoichi, back in the Team Z locker room, considers his final ball to Kunigami and asks where he may improve as a striker. Kuon tries to steer the conversation, warning Team Z about the consequences of another loss. He also explains that, since it’s a round-robin with five teams, each side needs to win against at least two of the others in order to move on. As a result, Chigiri, Bachira, and Yoichi began arguing with each other in the Team Z dressing room.

Yoichi goes to great lengths to emphasise why Team X won due to Shoei’s first goal, as well as the power and attributes that he used to lead his team to victory. To rephrase, Team X beat the odds by converting a 0 into a 1, whereas the rest of the teams decided to play a zero-sum game. When Jinpachi shows up on the television, he declares that Team V has won the match against Team Y by an 8-0 score. Towards the end of the episode, Jinpachi urges Team Z to create a weapon that would demolish the other teams’ constructions in order to advance to the first round. Team Z must multiply 100 times zero, which involves changing zero to one. When Jinpachi instructed everyone to begin soccer from square one, he meant just this.
