In My Hero Academia chapter 370, AFO does not have Spinner’s best interests in mind. As Present Mic and a few Class 1-A students are left to deal with Spinner while the rest of the Pro Heroes deal with other issues, the Pro Heroes have every cause to dread Spinner and his enormous army of Mutant Quirk users. Spinner is seen as a saviour by most of the mutant army. After the events in My Hero Academia Chapter 370, these highly driven villains have a good chance of seizing control of the Central Hospital unless something is done to stop them. AFO might be manipulating Spinner to obtain what he wants. Reader discretion is advised since this article expresses the author’s opinions and contains My Hero Academia spoilers.
Chapter 370 of My Hero Academia explains why Spinner is only useful for one thing.
Kurogiri is AFO’s true trump card. The mutant army has good cause to hate humans, but what started off as justice has morphed into revenge. In Chapter 370 of My Hero Academia, Mezo Shoji openly doubts their motivations. The conflict between humans and mutants will not be resolved by attacking a medical facility. Not that it matters to AFO; he only has eyes for himself. Kurogiri and his Warp Gate Quirk are what he’s after. Spinner’s primary objective is freeing Kurogiri, who is probably now stationed at the Central Hospital, so that AFO may exploit his teleportation abilities.
No matter what happens in Chapter 370 of My Hero Academia, the heroes must not allow Kurogiri to be captured by evil. AFO/abilities Shigaraki’s may be disabled, for example, if one were to teleport into the same room as Neito Monoma when he is utilising the Erasure Quirk.
Another one-time-use gadget, the Spinner
AFO is a cruel creature that looks out for no one but himself. He has always been self-centred, especially towards his teammates, and this goes back much before the events of My Hero Academia chapter 370. Despite Tomura Shigaraki’s protests, he attempted a fusion with him during the Paranormal Liberation War. Like before, Spinner will play a supporting role, and it’s clear that he’s only a pawn to AFO. Spinner’s new Gigantomachia Quirk is useless against a formidable foe like Izuku Midoriya.
AFO is looking for a more direct route to Kurogiri. When it comes to the hardships of the mutant class, AFO has nothing to worry about. Probably all it would take is for the soldiers to rush down to the hospital and get their prize. In My Hero Academia chapter 370, Spinner, like so many others before him, is nothing more than a pawn in AFO’s grand scheme.
Spinner’s inability to think independently is tragic
The events of the most recent chapter prove without a reasonable doubt that Spinner has lost his ability to reason. His name is being chanted by the mutant army, but he has no idea what they’re saying. The fact that he can only think in terms of “power” and “All For One” indicates that he has been subjected to some form of indoctrination. For AFO, stooping to a new low is entirely consistent with his personality. Spinner, alas, is little more than a piece of metal to fit into a lock. He cannot single-handedly turn the course of the ultimate conflict, but by releasing Kurogiri, he will. If AFO is going to have any chance against Midoriya in the last battle, he must use his hidden weapon.
