A new teaser trailer for Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, airing on AMC Networks, has been released. The film also features the series’ new premiere date. The first two episodes of Mayfair Witches will premiere on January 8, 2022, per the new 30-second teaser, and the following episodes will be delivered regularly thereafter. The debut date was moved up from January 5th. The show will air on AMC and be made accessible on AMC+ for streaming. The cast of Mayfair Witches also includes Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa, Harry Hamlin, and Alexandra Daddario.
Annabeth Gish, Beth Grant, Erica Gimpel, and Jen Richards are some of the show’s regular cast members. The new Mayfair Witches trailer is brief, but it promises a dramatic horror thriller in the manner of American Horror Story. The teaser opens with a sad pregnant lady standing on the brink of a multi-story house, and then turns to a group of women doing some kind of ceremony. The trailer takes place against a backdrop of the ladies taking part in the ceremony, with further disturbing images flashing on and off the screen. At one point in the trailer, the phrase “In a world full of secrets, she is the key” flashed over the screen.
Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, who also directed the first episode, are the brains of Mayfair Witches. Sarah Cornwell, Michael Goldbach, Lindsey Villarreal, Michael Uppendahl, Axelle Carolyn, Sean Reycraft, and Mary Angelica Molina are a few of the other directors that have worked on the series. Both Spalding and Ashford contribute to the show’s writing. The show’s executive producers are Spalding, Ashford, Uppendahl, Jeff Freilich, and Mark Johnson. Production on Mayfair Witches began in New Orleans in May and finished up just this past September. The forthcoming show is adapted from Anne Rice’s best-selling novel trilogy, Lives of the Mayfair Witches.
Included in this trilogy are the films The Witching Hour (1990), Lasher (1993), and Taltos (1994). Notable works by Rice include the novels Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned, both part of her bestselling series The Vampire Chronicles. Characters from both The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches can be found in both series. An interesting rendition of Interview with the Vampire has recently begun running on AMC.
The first episode of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches airs on January 8.
