Peacock’s Wolf Like Me has concluded production on Season 2, and actor Josh Gad has confirmed the exciting news. Gad posted the announcement and many photos of himself with the cast and crew on Instagram, giving his followers a glimpse behind the scenes. Isla Fisher, Ariel Joy Donoghue, and Anthony Taufa all appear in the shots, which were taken both on-site and, presumably, in Adelaide, Australia. Abe Forsythe (Little Monsters), the show’s creator, can be seen in between shoots, putting the finishing touches on the set while wearing a COVID safety mask. Gad teases future characters and themes we may expect to see this time around by saying that the upcoming season will have numerous new “great cast additions” in the caption.
Gad acknowledged Forsythe and promised fans they were “in for a crazy journey” with the director and creator of the series’ next project. Made Up Stories, the show’s producers, and executive producers Jodi Matterson and Bruna Papandrea also deserve recognition. Gary, a recently widowed man, was at the centre of the first season of this grim and gory comedy. As Gary is just starting to get a handle on his new life as a single parent and grieving the loss of his wife, he unexpectedly forms a deep relationship with Mary.
When you first meet Mary, she appears like a fantastic catch. However, there is a major drawback to dating Mary: she is a werewolf. Gary and his daughter Emma (Donoghue) are thrown for a major loop when they learn Mary’s truth. There is a lot of bloodshed towards the end of the first season when the three go on a trek into the Australian outback that goes horribly wrong. Emma’s revelation of Mary’s secret left viewers wondering what will happen in Season 2 to the major characters’ relationships. We last heard from the show in late April, when it was confirmed that it had been extended for a second season on Peacock and will, presumably, return to Australia for season two of production.
We can’t wait to see what stories Forsythe tells beneath the full moon this time around, especially after Season 1’s numerous connections between reality and the supernatural beast plot. There is no confirmed premiere date for Season 2 just yet, but it seems like Gad will keep fans informed through Instagram.
